History

Hannah Chung was the daughter of illegal Chinese immigrant Lu Wei. Because she was born on American soil, Hannah was a legal citizen, unlike her older brother Sam.[1] Hannah lived with Sam, and he supported both of them on his own.[2] After Lu Wei took Sam back to China, Hannah was left on her own. She found herself forced to work as a barista for fifteen hours a day to stay alive.[3]

Residents of Chinatown continued to leave red envelopes to Blindspot (Sam) even after he was gone, and Daredevil began handling some of the claims. He visited Hannah, telling the truth about her brother's secret identity as Blindspot and working as a hero vigilante. He asked Hannah to help read the text. She reluctantly helped to translate and read the notes to Daredevil so he could try to help them. As she read through the cards, she found a card addressed to Daredevil.[3]

One night, Hannah was shocked to find Sam at the hideout after he'd been missing and out of communication for months. While Sam prepared his plans to capture Muse, he explained to her that their mom intervened to get his eyes back and was still in China. He then said his goodbyes to Hannah as if they would never see each other again, causing her to worry.[4]
