Historia
Marvel's Iron Fist es una serie de Netflix ambientada en el Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel. Es la cuarta de seis series, precedida por Marvel's Daredevil y Marvel's Jessica Jones y Marvel's Luke Cage; seguido de Marvel's The Defenders y Marvel's The Punisher.[2]
Scott Buck fue contratado como showrunner de la serie en diciembre de 2015.[3] En marzo de 2016, se anunció que Finn Jones fue elegido para el papel de Danny Rand / Iron Fist.[4] La serie también está protagonizada por Jessica Henwick como Colleen Wing,[5] y David Wenham, Jessica Stroup y Tom Pelphrey como Harold, Joy y Ward Meachum.[6] Carrie-Ann Moss retoma su papel de Jeri Hogarth de Marvel's Jessica Jones.[7]
El rodaje comenzó en Nueva York en abril de 2016 con el título provisional "Kick".[8] Se mostró un avance de la serie en la San Diego Comic Con 2016. La fecha de lanzamiento del 17 de marzo de 2017 se reveló oficialmente en octubre de 2016.[9]
Se anunció una segunda temporada en la Comic-Con de San Diego 2017. Finn Jones y Jessica Henwick regresarán como Danny Rand y Colleen Wing, mientras que Simone Missick retomará su papel de Misty Knight de Marvel's Luke Cage. Raven Metzner reemplazó a Scott Buck como showrunner de la serie.[1] El rodaje de la segunda temporada comenzó en diciembre de 2017 y finalizó en mayo de 2018.[10][11] En la San Diego Comic-Con 2018, se reveló que la segunda temporada de esta serie se estrenaría el 7 de septiembre de 2018. [12] El 30 de julio de 2018, se reveló que la segunda temporada constaría de 10 episodios, en lugar de 13.[13]
El 12 de octubre de 2018 se anunció que Netflix canceló esta serie después de dos temporadas.[14]
