I would like to know your thoughts on the Netflix "Defenders" series and what you expect from the show. First of Daredevil, it will be a 13 episode series like all the rest, I hope it is dark (like the rest), has interesting plot, and doesn't end up like the Daredevil movie. Luke Cage, I want his series to be closely tied to Iron Fist. I want his origin story to be handled well since it will be the first time it has been told in a medium outside of comics. Iron Fist, some awesome fights and once again, plot and origin story. Jessica Jones, I want her to connect them all in an interesting and dynamic way. And finally The Defenders, basically, combine all the good things from all the series.

Before he passed away, Reg E. Cathey filmed his role as James Lucas (Luke's father) for season 2 of 'Luke Cage'.
He previously portrayed Franklin Storm in the 2015 film 'Fant4stic'.

Only thing I wonder is with him dying at age 59, is if he will be in that retirement home that I think Luke mentioned him being in season 1. But if he will have old-man makeup on when/if Luke visists him. Or it will be as part of flashbacks when Luke was the young Carl Lucas.

Yeah, so they don't leave anything hanging for another season, forcing them to recast the character. Not sure if that is something they can change in post-production with reshoots or something to prevent that.

If not, then in a later season they'll probably kill the character off, as is usually the case with television shows and even films recently.

My prediction is that Luke hears about his father's passing, visits the funeral, and has flashbacks to his father being a preacher at their church. Although preferably said visit and flashbacks wouldn't be detours to what is already going on in the season, and would actually serve a purpose to the story.
