Seriously guys, we really need to overhaul how tags appear, and how we tag things because this is unnecessary once someone goes in and writes a proper summary for comic pages like this.
I think it would be better if it was like this:

As Annabell previously pointed out, it would be better to keep cameos, mentions, and other types of minor appearances on the "Other Characters:" subsection. And we are discussing in that other thread about splitting such appearances into their own category, so that shouldn't be a problem.
For me, it would be better to make these notes sections you proposed as subsections of the already existing "Notes" section, and then adding a "Details" tag at the top of the appearances section so it can be the first thing users will see when looking through the appearances section (though I'd like to make it more "flashy").
Personally I like the use of the APN tag, adding notes is probably a good idea, but I'd prefer to have it with the different appearances as different character;s
Flashback: * Richard Rory As Baby * Richard Rory Flashback at Radio Station * Richard Rory Flashback with Carol Selby
I'd opt for a combination of both of your proposals. The creation of sections specifically for appearances and chronology notes, but keeping the appearances list as one.
The use of an anchor link is a good idea.
These might be more agreeable ideas.
I think that might be a more practical way of doing it.
I think that if we're going to have more detailed appearance notes that we should only put APN tags in the Appearances section if the next appearance is pretty clear. If it's more complicated maybe we can put some kind of link that jumps them down to the bottom of the page for the more complicated ones.
Like maybe something like (See Appearance Notes) but instead of just a green tag it's actually a link that takes you directly down the page to the appearance notes at the bottom.
Or... and this also popped into my head. Maybe if we recode the Flashback tags so they also work similar to Reference tags? Like something similar to:
Spider-Man <Flashback>Lists the chronology of the flashback appearances</Flashback>
To roll your mouse over the Flashback tag it will put a drop down thing like references. Or if you click on it, it drops you down to that information. The could automatically put that info in the Chronology Notes.
I mean right now, we can sort of do it, I do that with Continuity Notes on my Expanded History pages, but I think that if we wanted it to appeal to less technical users making the coding require as little complication as possible would help. Maybe we could get someone to figure out the code to make it simpler to input that information.
OH! I think I figured it out! At least as a temporary measure:
Appears in Flashback
As long as we put this in:
| Notes = ===Chronology Notes===
It absolutely works.
Here's a Sandbox of that idea: Here
I think until we change the code on the comic template there are coding work arounds where we can pull this off for the time being.
Nausiated wrote: The only repeat characters are characters that have one or more chronology points. So far the maximum I've encountered is three, but with someone like Spider-Man, yes, I can forsee that getting quite complicated (especially for a much expanded upon story such as the one in Amazing Fantasy #1)
I assume you meant to link to Amazing Spider-Man #1 there? Amazing Fantasy #1 doesn't exist: the first 6 issues of that title were called Amazing Adventures Vol 1.
I was making an example, but if you want to be specific I meant Amazing Fantasy #15
Okay, so I'm putting this and other appearance section items to a more uniform and vote directional discussion here: Thread:989722
