That's just my two cents. I understand why some get annoyed...I get it, but it's time to stop, I think.
Or maybe it's just time for me to avoid these topics 😅.
@BashengaTheFirst having an LGBT character isn't my problem. It's how the compenies use them that it's my problem. They know their crap so they use them to get the most attention from the LGBT. And it's anoying that they do it for the money and in my oppinon if you want to make an actual LGBT character do it in respect. Not for the money. But disney is in charge so I guess all I said doesn't count. Their the mouse in this house.
I get it. I never said you had an issue with LGBT. Regardless, what I said still stands though lol. We honestly dont know why they do what they do, we just assume (based on whatever facts we think we have). That assumption is not just our fault, it's the companies fault too. MCU may honestly have good intentions, but as I said already. ..regardless of their intentions, none of this will stop, so personally I'm just tired of all the fussing over it.
Yeah, I can understand why people could take issue with stuff like this, it can certainly come off as pandering, but I don't think the issue of "forced diversity" is going to effect the overall quality of the movie. I want comic book films to stand on their own as seperate entities from the stories they're based off of, and if the creators of this movie feel that this is the best way to tell their story, I have no problem with it.
I have yet to hear a coherent reason why gay characters shouldn't be present in stories.
^No one is saying they shouldn't be....at least I think so.
Some in this conversation here are expressing their criticisms on HOW the MCU introduces these characters and elements.
Nobody said that there can't be gay characters as everyone who disagreed w/ this stated above.
I dont even care too much that they turned this character gay. Yes, an actual gay character being put into a movie makes more sense, but like nobody even cares about this Eternal who turned gay, so its not a problem to me at least.
My problem is the way they kinda advertise it...? Idk what the right word is. But what im saying is they r making such a big deal that they cried and everything. That just sounds dumb. Have a gay couple kissing in the center of the screen, idc, but like dont do THIS Marvel. It sounds so fake.
@Anotherbatmanfan I agree with everything you just said. You put my opinion to words. Like, if you advertise your movie by saying it has a trans character then your basically fighting yourself
Well, they were a gender bent team already. As for LGBQT representation, why not? I would have preferred the whole team, due to their long lives, be poly-amorous. It just would make sense for them to form less permanent relationships over thousands of years of weaving themselves in and out of history.
I see. But we don't see a movie beacause it has LGBT charactes now do we? We go to them beacause we're interested in them
