It's kind of sad, really. Garth Ennis would hate what Frank has become. He's not the Sorcerer Supreme or a goddamn zombie or F*CKING GHOST RIDER. HE'S FRANK CASTLE. Marvel is just ridiculous...
I actually liked Franken-Castle though...
You may just be the only one
Garth didn’t create Frank though sadly. I think cosmic ghost rider is interesting topic although I wish punisher Max was back considering the events of Punisher Born are Maybe Canon to 616...?
Gerry Conway's Punisher is deeply underestimated. His first solo adventures are cool, if we also add that he didn't have a name, he was just "the Punisher".
The Punisher before Garth Ennis like Swamp Thing before Alan Moore. It's just not the same. Dixon is probably the one pre-Ennis Castle writer that had a lasting impact on future Punisher comics. Sadly, the greatest part of Ennis' Punisher never really stuck with other writers. Castle, throughout his MAX title is completely devoid of characterization. He's treated less like a character and more like a personification of death. Such a cool, fitting creative decision.
Oh well, I still like Conway's stuff.
And what about War Journal? That's epic. And it's pre-Ennis. I think I would definitely count Potts/Lee's run. It's one of the greatest Punisher runs.
Hey, I liked FrankenCastle too.
Blade makes short work of Frank
