I can imagine you rolling eyes. 🤗 Don't worry, it won't take long.
Let's talk about diversity and how It's handled in comics books starring Silk.
First of all, obvious one. Cindy Moon is a Korean-American. It isn't shine too much in Silk comics though. You can feel that she is normal just like you. But we have New Agents of Atlas storyline more focused on that. She is friends with her idol, Luna Snow, a K-Pop Singer. I think it's cool.
Now, emancipation. As we see in comics Silk is an independent woman. She has her own apartment, pay rent and has a job. She also showed that she can step out of Spider-Man's shadow as I've already pointed out.
Last but not least, Silk introduced LGBT characters. No, I don't mean Silk or her family. I'm talking about Lola and Rafferty, Cindy's co-workers.
That fact is stated in first comics from Silk solo series.
I think that they relationship is really cool. It isn't like "Look at me, I'm LGBT relationship!". It is shining in some moments but comics mostly focus on Silk and friendship between her and these two girls.
However, in Silk Vol 2 finale it has time to shine as we see Lola and Rafferty's wedding.
So, here are diversity moments in Silk comics I've read. Which one is your favourite?
