Could go either way. Avengers have more muscle, Xmen have far greater telepathic power.

It all depends who is on the roster, and if any Avengers are strong enough to resist X telepaths.

Regarding films, if you weren't asking for comics; I say Avengers slight majority.

Entire rosters... Avengers... Too many god tier characters and cosmic powerhouses.

I'm going with the X-Men on this one because when things get desperate enough for the mutants every mutant becomes in X-Men and that's about a million pissed off mutants you don't want none once letsabertooth on one of the teams and when you let sabertooth on your team you wouldn't let anyone on your team they have some like X-Force that even has non mutants like deathlok

Unlike a lot of avengers mini X-Men villains can become X-Men themselves for example apocalypse magneto mystique Mister sinister so now you dealing with all the X-Men and a lot of their enemies as well

X Men are way more in number than avengers and few x men have similar power as avenger but still it would be an interesting fight
