I agree with doc. Its probably temporary. I mean lets remember all the many times mutants had a soverign nation: Genosha, Utopia, i feel like there was at least one more, then Krakoa. They all ended in disaster. I hope they at least have a better plot for this one.
I don't think the xmen donct care, they just have bigger fish to fry.
Lets face it, the xmen wasted their efforts on the human. In effort to fight for equality, they spent years fighting for the very population who was oppressing them. Yet time and time again the humans showed them how little they actually cared, attempting genocides, attempting to "cure" them, performing tests on them, imprisoning them, forced slavery, criminalizing them. I mean theres essentially mutliple futures where humans create a dystopia by trying to commit genocide against mutant. Mutants spent all that time fighting for civil relations with humans rather than focusing on the needs of mutants.
Krakoa is a new step for mutant. A chance to focus on the needs of mutants. It doesnt mean they hate humans or that they don't care, but the mutants have bigger fish to fry. They're repairing a decimated population. A population whose survived countless attempted genocides, years of discrimination, criminalization, stigmitization, etc. Theycre needs are simply more important right now. Besides, the humans made it clear they didnt need the mutants. They have human hereos to protect them anyhow. I feel if it came down to it, the mutants would join in if it was a worthy enough battle. They just don't make the priority list unless its reslly serious.
