Welcome to the first Flash Fact! In this series I want to review comic related stuff (like Movies/TV Shows and of course comics). On this wiki I'll only do Marvel stuff (wich makes sense). DC stuff will be on the DC Fandom (wich also makes sense). I called this series so because The Flash is my favourite fictional character (surprise surprise) and I didnt have a better name in mind (if you can think of better ones feel free to comment them down below).

This Flash Fact will be about The "The New Mutants" movie. I just came out of theaters like 10 minutes ago so my impressions are fresh.

First of all please dont judge me if a character didnt act like his comic self or something like that as I've never read a New Mutants comic (I'll try to get one soon though!). Also please have in mind that this all is my opinion and you have yours. So lets keep it nice and we can discuss things in the comments of this post (I'd love to hear your opinions!). And please take care of the fact that I'm not a professionel reviewer. I just love talking (or writing) about things I love (Superheroes). In fact I've only done like three "official" reviews before so feel free if you want to give me some tips.

So lets begin with the positive:

• The combination of the horror and the superhero genre worked really well. It was the best aspect of the movie. The film-makers did really a good job in portraying both aspects.

• What also helped the movie is the small cast. There are like only 6/7 people in the movie, wich created a nice and quite atmosphere.

• I also think that the action was pretty dope and I enjoyed the action scenes a lot. The CGI didnt look bad and it really suprised how realistic it was. Especially when you have characters like Magik or Sunspot in the movie.

• The portrayal of the characters in the movie (especially Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik) was really good. Everyone had his own personality and no character seemed bland (except the doctor).

• What I also loved was that the movie was misleading us in thinking Professor X was this "boss" of the doctor. I really thought that this other institution was Charles Xavier's school for gifted youngsters.

That was everything positiv I have in mind right now so lets move to the okay stuff:

• The acting was lacking sometimes. Especially with the main character (Mirage). The rest of the cast did really fine. But tha acting of Mirage was really distracting in some scenes (especially in the end).

With that said lets move to the bad stuff this movie ha:

• The doctor was a really bland character. I would be really interested in seeing her motivations and more of this organisation she worked for, wich makes this young mutants to killers (if someone has comic knowledge please explain).

• Why did they leave Magiks Nightmares unexplained. They made so big of a drama out of it and then left it unexplained. Why the hell. They we're the most disturbing and wierd nightmares of all(here again If someone has comic knowledge please give explanation or/and comic recommendations).

To wrap this up:

It was a really entertaining movie and definetly better than I expected. I'd give it a 7,5/10.
