I love that max! Thats actually one of my favourite concepts for a Spider-Man death. Him dying in effort to save an every day civilian.
I had this idea for a spidey death:
Version one of the death is similar to your idea.
In this, spiderman would have been stalked by venom for years who was trying to seek revenge and torture peter. Only to one day find peter at his weakest moment, vulnerable, beaten. Before venom can close in on spider-man, he finds that peter had been carrying a child to safety, and with the last bit of strength he had he had carried the child away from danger. The little girl runs off, and spider-man dies from his wounds right there in the ally. Venom approaches his body, feeling victorious that his foe had finally died. He was free of the curse that was peter parker. But, the longer he thought of it, the more it began to eat eddie alive. He didnt beat peter. Peter died saving a child, giving every last bit of himself to save someone else. Venom would never beat peter, or get vengence. Peter dies a hero, held to a standard that eddie would never achieve. Realizing once and for all the peter parker was a true hero, venom sets out to become a new person in his image.
I thought this would be a cool mini story, watching the death of spider-man in the eyes of venom would be an interesting lense to see it.
The second version of this involved a similar story to this, where venom finally does beat spider-man, and in the fury of vengance, he kills him. The glory sits with him only for a moment before venom realizes how incredibly empty it feels. Eddie sinks into a deep deppression which eventually causes him to purge venom from himself and kill the klyntar. Turning a new leafb venom sets out to life his life more like his former nemesis: peter parker.
I always loved the paradigm of the hero villain relationship. I like the idea that if venom ever actually did kill spider-man, he'd rue the day .
