Why are mutants hated but mutates are loved?
Like, I get that not everyone hates mutants or everyone loved mutates, but you get what I mean.
It’s one of those things that somewhat aged badly in comics but my guess is that it’s an evolutionary thing rather than an accidentally get power thing, but I’m mainly guessing here.
If I were to look for a rationale to it - mutates could be described as individuals who have been altered by circumstance, while mutants are portrayed as a distinct sub-genus of the human race. The common genetic factor tying the mutants together is why they are used to tell stories with themes of racial prejudice etc.
Mutates are humans who got their power through science. It makes them more relatable to humans because they were normal once.
Mutants are a seperate race. Their experience is different as a people, and they have a unified identity as mutants. People fear people they cant relate to. So the mutants get a lot of hate because humans can't understand them, and fear them.
Well first of they are of different earths so they could be the main reason
What do you think?
