Bucky was brainwashed by Hydra! Why the hell is that so hard to understand?! Sure he had the right to be angry for not being told before but he had no right to try to kill Bucky. STOP JUSTIFYING TONY!

True that we can’t prove whether the pessimistic or optimistic outcome would happen, but when has humanity as a whole put the collective/long term good ahead of short term profits/maintaining the status quo?
I mean... Literally this year scientists around the world mobilized and created a vaccine for a global pandemic in record time, and a system was put in place to ensure those vaccines would be distributed relatively evenly throughout the world. Pretty easy example of a time the world mobilized for the greater good of long term global health
Mobilised =\= changed.
People would absolutely put the issue of scaling back consumption on the back burner when it’s not a pressing issue. Give a couple of generations and boomers mark 2 will be in power.
Im not even sure what you mean by that. They did create change because the vaccine is vitally changing the course of the pandemic.
Honestly though, it sounds like we could go back and fourth here and this is pretty distant from the original purpose of the post anyways. I just personally think undoing the snap is wasted opportunity
I mean that it’s easier for humanity to react to something new than change existing self destructive behaviour.
The real waste was Thanos not using the stones to change birth rates across the universe to reduce population levels over time until they stabilise at a more sustainable level.
Well i agree, but once the snap happened it was silly to undo it in my opinion. It wasnt the best solution but it still gave them opportunity to fix things. They even mention in endgame how much better things got.
But again, sounds like we just have different views and thats fine. You seem a little more pessimistic about humanity where i have maybe a bit more optimism. Thats fine.
Im sorry way further back did you imply that sacrificing your own life wasn’t sufficient enough of a hero thing to do for you.
I mean yeah. Sacrificing your life is one thing but it does not wash away all the bad one did.
It feels like a dramatic overstatement to call Tony a villain.
His character was a deeply fallible one, sure, but well meaning.
(AoU is the most damage resulting from one of his fuck ups, but a few scenes aside that movie is kind of a mess.)
My main dislike is that it puts the idea of the “good billionaire” centre stage.
Idk i'd personally call him a villain. Intentionally or not he's played the role of a villain in both the mcu and in 616
What do you think?
