Marauders (2019)
Uncanny X-Men
It's hard to pick a character title out of all the many Wolverine titles there are 😄
I really want a Cyclops solo title (the the time displaced one)
Ultimate X-men
Anyways, here's my favourites
Uncanny X-men 2013.
-fantastic story about Cyclops' mutant revolution. It addresses a lot of major issue in society. Honestly people make fun of it for introducing characters like goldballs, but cyclops training a new generation of mutants to face a war of oppression is moving.
Xforce 2008
Fantastic roster, amazing art. Has to be one of the goriest comics ive read. The xforce really love up to a mutant hitsquad.
The whole idea is mutant kind is reduced to less than 200, so they need to take out any threats to their species pe-emptively. It has to be one of the grittiest, darkest comica ive read. Its disturbing even. A close look at biogotry and genocide.
Xfactor 2005
-fantastic in every way. Witty, great roster, quarky. Its a more nonserious book but it has no issue with geeting very serious, like having a miscarriage on panel and seeing the characters process that painfull. Seeing a character get left behind in a future mutant concentration camp. Seeing the main character attempt suicide.
Hell the first comic addresses a main character attempting suicide after loosing their powers in Mday.
Its a dark but beautiful story. Its witty and unique, highlights characters who rarely get spotlights like Maddrox, shatterstar, longshot, M, stonguy, darwin, etc.
One of my favourite series of all time. Not just with xmen
Cable and the xforce 2014
-fantastic roster and fantastic delivery. The father daughter dybamic of this team really made it good.
Again the idea of fable receiving premonitions about events that lead to the dystopean future and doing everything to stop it.
New xmen 2004
-this story starts about a new generation of students at the xavier institute, but it goes wild from there.
They start it by putting all students into a team for learning purposes. All the teams compete throughout the year and learn how to use their abilities.
Through the middle of the series some dark stuff occurs. Mday occurs. The humanists start genocide. Classmates watch each other get butchered. A school bus full of mutants gets blown up. One mutant has his body mutilated and dropped on the school doorstep.
One of the characters has a father with the same powers. The father is a rapist who assulted her mother. She doesn't know this and the school accidentally hires him to act as a psychiatrist and tries to manipulate her.
This story started off as a happy story and progressed to showing us the horrible experiences of being a young mutant. Honestly, this series made me cry more than once.
Some honourable mentions:
-im currently reading uncanny X-men from 2016. Its phenomenal. Magnetos team is interesting.
-uncanny xforce deserves an honourable mention. Good story.
-generation hope is one of my favourite story lines.
-uncanny Xen 2012 was pretty short but great. I love the xtinction team. Gotta be one of the most powerful teams of xmen.
And of course, the cable solo series in 2008. It follows him raising Hope in the neverending dystopean future. Beautiful series. Ive read it more than once and get feels every time.
I meant to say not the time displayed one 😄
I'm still sore about that decision to bring them in (Bendis...). But thinking now, there have been some funny moments with those kids out of time
Oh well i mean havent the time displaced xmen returned to their time? Thats been resolved for awhile
My hate goes past beyond time itself
I sound like an x-men villain now...
@Fatebuoy Nothing to be ashamed of. Embrace it.
In terms of mine, mine would definitely have to be X-Force (2008 - 2010) mainly for the the artwork of Clayton Crain, one of my favourite comics artists. I loved his stuff for Carnage and its sequel Carnage USA, Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears, Ghost Rider: Road to Damnation, Venom/Carnage and finally his really early stuff for Image Comics Tom Judge: The Rapture (Top Cow imprint) and Curse of The Spawn. In the latter his art resembles that of Todd MacFarlane.
Cool 😎
I’m actually in the middle of Extraordinary X-Men and it’s pretty good. X-Force is very entertaining
What do you think?
