Generally, in the Multiverse, most Hyperions are Eternals and they assume the civillian identity of Mark/Marcus Milton.

One peculiar but notable exception are the Hyperions native of Earth-616.

On Earth-616 Hyperion is not an Eternal, but an alien, the sole survivor of a planet in the Microverse. He gained his powers in the destruction of the planet. This alien is called Zhib-Ran.

Zhib-Ran was then cloned by the Grandmaster to form Earth-616 Squadron Sinister.
