According to me, marvel made the right call, because the problem is that not everyone likes to watch series, and not everyone has access to it. I preferred their original movie model, not this series pumping one, because it keeps a lot of gaps in between the movies. For example, Wandavision. Even though it was a good show, a lot of people haven't watched it, and for them, most of the storyline meant very little in Multiverse of Madness. They might've heard that Wanda had kids with Vision in her pocket reality, but not have watched the show.
