Krakoans made a pill which would act as blanket treatment for mental illness. To my understand it helped fulfill the biological components of mental illness, which would help level off the individual. They would still require social supports of course, but the biological portion of mental illness could be corrected for by the Krakoan drug

Are they selling it? I think the Ravencroft Institute acquiring it would be a good idea for them.

During Krakoa, it was given freely to any country with one condition: They had to support the sovereignty of the nation of Krakoa on the world scale. That was all, recognize them as a nation and they got a drug to cure all illness, a drug to cure all mental illness, and a drug to extend human life up past 5 years.

The countries who refused, the team called the Mauraders would smuggle it in to sell it to black markets so the people had some access.

But frankly, even cancer was cured by krakoa as long as the nations supported its sovereignty.

Many countries did, others didn't. Wakanda didn't but that was because they simply did not need the Krakoa solutions, and vowed to remain an ally, until Krakoa snuck in and stole from them.

Exactly. In the X-Men related titles (especially ones like SWORD, Marauders, and X-Corp) the global implications of their actions through Krakoa are showcased.

Not to mention galactic implications. Krakoa helped issue in a new galactic unity and developed trade on an intergalactic scale, putting Sol on the map as an intergalactic asset.

And the development of Mysterium.

Then there was Arakko too, but i don't know what came of Arakko.

Exactly. There's plenty of global and intergalactic impacts that can be unpacked.

I consider the Krakoa era for mutants to be Hickman's most controversial work. I have heard people say they love it or hate it. I'm indifferent to it because I think its a genius idea, but it takes away the idea of mutants being shunned by society and trying to fit in and be accepted by society. Now it feels like they are blunt forcing it and becoming a superpower (nation wise). An example is Emma Frost springing Sabretooth from jail, he was being arrested for several murders and was subsequently pulled out of trial for being under "diplomatic immunity". After this, Emma Frost basically challenges the court to try to stop her. This is why I'm not a huge fan but I like the idea none the less.

Idk Hickman loves doing stuff like that. He had the avengers colonizing mars in 2013, and set them up to be pretty uncharacteristically different too. His work of the Avengers and the New Avengers was very interesting but honestly pretty akin to what he did with Krakoa. He loves going far out and sci fi.

I think one of the biggest ways though that the Krakoa era should have impacted the marvel universe is showing the world the incredible power of Mutantdom. They advanced further and faster than any other human race.

What it showed too was how incredibly powerful Mutant Circuitry is. Mutants around other Mutants synchronize and become more powerful together. Mutants around more mutants also create more mutant births and more xgene expression. The more mutants there are together, the more Xgenes are expressed. It was revealed in the krakoa period that had it not been for the genocide of Genosha and the mday hex, mutants would have been on a fast track to be the dominant species on the planet.

That's due to mutant circuitry. More mutants=more mutant births. More in one place means more xgene expression. More Mutants together means increased power amongst mutants.

So more mutants in one place equals a quick growing population with increasing power. Not to mention the synchronizity allows for unique specialization and cooperation, which allows mutant technology to advance at an incredible rate.

Which is why mutants quickly developed krakoa, and quickly cured death, and quickly cured all mental illness and physical illness, and quickly extended human life. Not to mention it was mutant circutry that allowed for the creation of one of the most versatile super metals in marvel.

Mutants in only a couple years of Krakoa expanded to be one of the boradest empires and versatile empires:

Krakoa had claim to:

-Otherworld

-The Shi'ar

-The Brood

-Limbo

And they had colonized Mars, took over the Captain Britain Corps, they even through time travel conquered a planet in the distance past.

The also :

-Solved the food crises by making organic food growth, even had bagels that grew on trees.

-Solved for housing by making organic housing, that was actually developed via studying Tumor growth and applying it to Organic Technology

-They created organic mech suits that would rival ironman like Armour

- They invented Mysterium, the best conducting super metal and a metal to rival adamantium and vibranium.

In the span of what would only be a couple year, Mutantdom created a nation that became an empire, and had scientific advancement that dwarfed that of typical humans, and created a powerhouse of a nation that was able to sustain multiple wars and invasions, even taking on the Eternals and holding their own.

Frankly, Mutandom in a few years of being united made enough progress to catch up to the Inhumans and The Eternals in a way, though the inhumans and eternals had centuries of a head start.

So I think of anything to take away from Krakoa, it should be that mutants are nothing to sneeze at, and United Mutants should be something to be in awe of.

Mutant's united equates to a terrifying and awesome force.

I have absolutely no knowledge of the state of Marvel since the Krakoa thing, excepting Cage and Iron Fist or Strange Academy... Neither mentioned the X-Men at all.
