^Wholeheartedly agree. Racism is sadly not going anywhere anytime soon and it’s been around for so damn long. Bringing such a relatable and heavy topic into the superhero world is one of the reasons I love the X-Men so much. Beyond that the X-Men world has tackled slavery, abuse, mental instability, insecurity, depression, etc. I’m here for all of it.

Mutants aren't unique to humans. Many species have them, and they are not actually genetically dissimilar enough to qualify as a different species due to compatibility. But, fantasy takes liberties with things.

Mutants are usually not a different species. But in fantasy they fit what a “race” is

I think it is Homo sapien superior. They're apparently genetically compatible, as they can produce viable offspring.

It’s been known in the marvel comics for a while that the mutants are the victims of racism ever since the start of the franchise

And yes it counts as racism since homo superior is a race of human
