Yeah i hate that retcon. Every few years some writer wants to leave their mark and makes some dumb ass change, like removing Franklin Richard's mutant status because the writer "Just didn't really get the appeal of mutants"

But the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver parentage one was absurd and senseless with no pay off.

Also the scarlet witches’ other retcon, to make her not a mutant cause her mutant power was to control probability and now she’s a magic user

Those retcons are one and the same iron.

The reveal was that Magneto is not her father, and by extension, she was never a mutant. She was just an experiment from the high evolutionary.

I think they should just pick one thing, and stick with it instead of changing it whenever it fits the plot.

T.B.H. Magneto isn't nurturing father material. He has become a better representative in recent decades but he is still emotionally scarred.
