Hey guys, this is my brand-new head icon for the Ben Reilly incarnation of Scarlet Spider.
So, what do you think? Please leave your positive thoughts, down below, and let me know. Thank you!
I have no idea how this works due to Scarlet Spider having a role in the movie too. Probably just a cameo anyways

Here's a team-up you don't expect to see everyday: Benjamin Reilly & Madelyne Pryor
Say that you’re gonna create a new Spider themed character to add to the Spider-Verse, what would you call them other than just Spider-Man of Earth blank? I feel as though all the good possible spider themed names have been taken already.
I liked Ben Reilly’s new hooded costume(minus the weird smile of course) and Jessica Drew’s biker costume.
Hi, I wanted to see what you thought of Spider-Man Beyond so far, do you like the story, the characters? I would like to know, I’ve personally love the arc so far and haven’t enjoyed Spider-Man comics this much in years
My review for Ben Reilly: Spider-Man #1
Written by J.M. DeMatteis
Art by David Baldeón
J.M. DeMatteis is one of the best comic writers out there and Ben Reilly: Spider-Man #1 proves that. Incredible emphasis on Ben as a character and deep dive into Reilly’s head. With incredible art from David Baldeón accompanying every panel.
Story Summary: Taking place during a time when Peter Parker was believed to be a clone and Ben Reilly as the original, Peter has left to Portland with Mary Jane, Ben Reilly has fully taken the mantle of Spider-Man, now having to face the battle of his past and the violent criminals of New York. Taking a more empathetic approach to the villains than Peter. Ben has to face an escape Ravencroft patient, Carrion, a classic Spider-Man villain who can devour a person’s psyche with one thought and disintegrate human flesh with one touch.
P.S. We also get a little visit from J. Jonah Jameson.
Presentation:
Story: Gave an incredible look into Ben’s psychology and personality, while also showing how his past trauma severely hinders his day to day life, making him much more introverted and unaccepting of friendship while at the same time, more empathetic and understanding to others. This being said, it also set up some interesting plot lines, like the future antagonist of the series, a serial killer with disturbing abilities and Mac Gargan, the Scorpion, discovering Ben’s identity as Spider-Man and ambushing him in his sleep. 10/10
Characterization: As stated above, it’s phenomenal, Ben shines brighter as a character than he has in years. Showing his thoughts, his insecurities, his happiness, and making us understand his approach as a hero. While giving his cast of characters very solid and unique personalities. 10/10
Art: The art is unique in style, which some people may not like, but for me, the art is phenomenal, no details being missed on characters, drawn proportionally well, and showing off beautiful environments and very well drawn iconic structures. While also having incredible, vibrant, popping colors for every panel. 9/10
Score: 9.5/10 - Must Read!
Good character driven story that Spider-Man fans and casual comic fans will enjoy!
Art by David Baldeón
My thoughts: I am very impressed from what I’ve seen, the art is good, dialogue is great, and they brought back the classic villain, Carrion. I also love that they called Ben Reilly the original Peter Parker, in the description, since this is based during the time Ben was Spider-Man in the 90’s, and both thought Peter was the clone.
I’m confident the story will be great, because of the writer connected to it, J.M. DeMatteis, who wrote Kraven’s Last Hunt and Ben Reilly’s best story, Spider-Man: Lost Years. I’m particularly excited because he really delves deep into the psychology of a character.
The art is great, though, I would of enjoyed if they brought some artists from Ben’s time as Spider-Man, but David is great too, he worked on the new X-Factor series and worked on Kaine’s Scarlet Spider series.
What do you think? Do you like what you see? Are you excited? Are you gonna pick up the series? Do you enjoy the art? Are you enjoying Beyond?
I would love to see him in a live action spiderman movie.

Scarlet Spider

Equipment: Standard. Kaine's iteration for this is before he possessed powers from the Other. Ben has no mental illness as of right now, nor is he bonded with Carnage.
Here’s the evidence:
Ben has never confirmed that he became Spider-Man post One More Day. If Peter never got married with Mary Jane, it would make no sense why Ben would of became Spider-Man post-OMD. Because Peter only let Ben Reilly become Spider-Man so he could settle down with his pregnant wife. He has also recapped his entire life when he was dying in Spider-Geddon and didn’t even mention being Spider-Man. Thus proving he never became Spider-Man.
Ben being blonde again, and his degeneration scars around his eye is gone. Ben didn’t want to dye his hair to blonde, because he wanted to be like Peter in his solo series in 2017. He was obsessed with replacing him in fact, that he went by “Peter” whenever he was in civilian clothing. The fact that he’s going by “Ben Reilly” and him dying his hair, makes me believe, that Ben’s memories from pre-OMD have been restored, he remembers who he was before OMD, he remembers that he was Spider-Man, he remembers his life again.
Ben taking up the mantle again and being on good terms with Peter. On several previews we’ve seen Ben and Peter interacting again, when we last left off, Peter disliked Ben and considered him crazy because of Clone Conspiracy. In fact, he even gives the mantle back to Ben, which shows that he trusts him again. Why the newfound trust?
The entire Nick Spencer run has been hinting and foreshadowing that Peter and MJ will be getting back together again. Her old proposal ring has been hanging on a necklace and now it’s slowly shifting down shifting down her finger through each comic. In the last comic, we saw it on her index. Then on a preview of Spider-Man Beyond, we finally see the ring on her ring finger, meaning they’re married again! In fact, Doctor Strange has figured out that something was taken away from Peter and is on a mission to save Peter’s soul in Sinister War #1. Obviously, he is talking about their Marriage being taken away.
Doctor Strange relies on Ben Reilly for his final wish in Death of Doctor Strange #1.
An IGN News article confirms Ben Reilly takes up the mantle during a low point in Peter’s life and that Peter willingly gives the mantle up to Ben. My theory is that Peter has to grapple with the newfound guilt of his past life, all the hardships in his marriage, the miscarriage of Mayday (his daughter) that he believed was real, the death of Aunt May, etc etc. and now everyone knows his identity again. So he lets Ben Reilly become Spider-Man as he tries to deal with this new found knowledge out of the public with MJ.
The ring shift:
Doctor Strange confirming he knows that Mephisto stole Peter and MJ’s marriage:
Ben Reilly before Beyond with degeneration scar around eye:
Ben during Beyond event:
What do you think? Is this too outrageous of a theory?
