As a massive fan of the X-Men, I've noticed over that over the years that Fox's once-beloved films are now being soured upon by many. Not that I don't understand why, but I do NOT agree (except for X-Men Origins; we can all agree that one was a disaster). Which is why I'm daring you guys to say something positive about them and name the BEST X-Men movie and why it's your favorite. I'll go first - X-Men: First Class, easily. It's the most stylish, has the best character work, seriously expands upon the mythology of Earth-10005, and captures the X-Men in a way none of the other films managed to do. While I love the other movies, they mainly capture Bryan Singer's vision of X-Men, which I love. The Deadpool movies capture Deadpool, James Mangold's Wolverine films capture Wolverine, but the main X-Men movies captured Singer and Simon Kinberg's version of X-Men. Which is fantastic, but only Matthew Vaughn truly brought the color, imagination, and tone of the comics to the screen. X-Men: Days of Future Past comes close since Vaughn's style gets blended with Singer and Kinberg's, but it's not quite as pure. Both films are practically perfect and are on my list of my favorite films of all time, but it might be the style.
What's yours?
