Slades Last Ride. Literally so peak.
What marvel character that has yet to be a ghost rider/have a spirit of vengeance would you like to see be a ghost rider?
His Hellfire is enough to make Captain America give in to despair and take out the Incredible Hulk.
Zarathos has been shown as somewhat comparable to Mephisto.
Mephisto is stated to be equal to Odin.
A battle with Mephisto could cause omniversal Armageddon.
As Zarathos, could easily take down a group of other Ghost Riders.
His power could threaten all of existence, and even bring down Heaven itself.
If you could add any character(s) to Marvel Rivals, who would you add?
Personally, I would add:
-War Machine
-Ghost Rider
-Carnage (and the other Symbiotes, perhaps in some big symbiote update, with Phage, Scream, Agony, Riot, Lasher, and Toxin)
-Korg
-Miek
What about you guys?
Not looking for someone already with powers that gets possessed by GR but a human like Danny or Robbie
So after Doom was finally defeated and returned to Earth 616. Another threat arrived on the Island: Mephisto.
The extra dimensional demon took over Hades's abandonned domain: The Underworld to make it his own, turning the River Styx from Green to Red.
As he is an NPC, players can interact with him to make pacts with him, or ask him questions about Doom and his mother.
"Latveria's strong-handed master will dedicate his life to power. control. perfection. But he'll never get what he truly wants. How lucky I am to witness his eternal torment. It is... delicious." - Mephisto Ask About Doom Dialogue.
If players wears Doom outfit, he will have special dialogue, with him taunting Doom about his mother's screams echoing accross his realm
Dr Strange, Wanda, Shuri, Thor, and Ghost Rider outfits all have special interactions with him related to previous comics from Earth-616 continuity.
Round 1 No Powers
Round 2 5 minutes prep time
Round 3 They fight ontop of a building
Ghost Rider, a name taken by different people who signed the contract with Mephisto to serve as enforcers when innocent blood is spilled. They tend to have their form enveloped in hellfire, which they can manipulate or use to upgrade their vehicles. Their strength and durability varies depending on the circumstances, but they can take blows from Hulk and are comparable to Spider-Man. They can heal from most damage and purge wicked souls out of their sins, as well as travel through dimensions. But their most infamous ability is to inflict every ounce of pain to people they have ever caused in their lifetime just by having them stare into their eye sockets.
Thanos, a Mad Titan with superhuman strength surpassing that of Eternals and can manipulate energies & matter. He is invulnerable to physical harm, always returning upon being killed, as he is banned from afterlife. He has access to psychic attacks and teleporting chair. He is also sadomasochist, being unfazed by Frank Castle Ghost Rider's used Penance Stare on King Thanos.
But in another comic, normal Thanos was incinerated.
So, should Penance Stare work on Thanos or not?
I may not be much of a Ghost Rider expert, but this run is definitely making me want to read more of his books, because it's been really interesting so far. I thought the contents of the first volume, while a bit poorly explained, were very well-done, and I liked the subtle horror influences. I would probably give it a 9/10. I haven't seen Percy tackle a pseudo-horror comic before, but he's making it work. And Cory Smith's art is a little too heavily lined, it ultimately fits with the gritty aesthetic of the story. Now, to get into the contents of this volume.
I feel like in some ways it was better and in some ways it was worse. While the story felt more focused this time, there was one big thing near the end that I'll get to in a moment that was a little frustrating. But I'll get to that after I cover other stuff that happens earlier.
We start this arc by removing Johnny's parasite, (for lack of a better word to describe the supernatural equivalent) and while it was a strange narrative decision to involve Wolverine so heavily in that, I really like the way Percy writes Wolverine, so it doesn't bother me that much. Unfortunately, the parasite didn't stay dead...
Exhaust is a goofy villain. I'm not sorry. I just can't take him seriously. I'm not sure what the idea was behind him, but I feel like they should have gone back to the drawing board with it. I'm interested to see how things go with Blackheart, don't get me wrong, but I feel like Exhaust was so weirdly executed that I struggle to see how he fits into the larger story.
On the subject of negatives, I feel like Talia Warroad has potential as a co-protagonist, but right now she feels a little too much like a ride-along character and sometimes I wonder why she's here. But then she'll do something that totally justifies her role in the story and I don't know how to feel about her character anymore. I'll have to see how that goes. Similarly, I feel like some of the other supernatural forces in this run have felt a little underdeveloped, but I'm not very familiar with Ghost Rider comics, so maybe some of them are pre-existing things that I just need to do more backtracking to understand.
This is a random little positive that I just think is neat, but I like that this book says that Blackheart has been using the United States Interstate system as a series of conduits for his plans, because they have so much supernatural power in them from the people who died in car accidents haunting the roads. I just think this is an interesting concept and I like the way that the narration describes it.
Another positive is correcting a small issue with the last volume, which is that we get to see some more "cool" scenes with Ghost Rider, which is a fun boost. I liked the amount of Johnny Blaze we got in the first volume, (partly because I like the way Percy writes antiheroes like I mentioned with Wolverine earlier) but it did feel like we didn't get as much Ghost Rider as we could have, and this volume kind of improves that. Also there's a panel where he makes a subway train his vehicle, and I just think that's kind of fun. I don't know. Some characters' powers are just inexplicably cool to me, and Ghost Rider is one of them.
But now that I've kind of covered what I liked and what I didn't, I need to talk about my biggest issue with this arc, and the reason that I put this at an 8.5/10 instead of a 9.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Exhaust, one of the main villains this arc and the preceding one were building up, is resolved off-panel. I may have thought he was a goofy villain, but I still would have wanted to see an actual resolution to that. It almost feels like they expected they would have one more issue for this arc than they did, and they had to cram the fight with Exhaust and the fight with Blackheart into one issue. And it feels very rushed. And that unsatisfying ending does kind of sour the rest of the arc, but i think I ultimately enjoyed the rest enough that it didn't bother me that much, and I'm interested to see what they do with Danny Ketch in the next arc. So I would still give it an 8.5/10.
Have you read this book? If so, what did you think of it?
So a while ago on Reddit, I made a post asking comic book fans what series would they wanted turned into an adult animation like Invincible (whence the term "Invincivle Treatment"). So what are some runs or series that you would want turned into an adult animation?
Personally, I'd like for a Spirit of Vengeance series to be made. It could include all the main Ghost Riders as the focus of the story & then have other Spirits of Vengeance as anthology stories. So other series i'd like would be a Beta Ray Bill, 2099, & Blade series.
So... for reasons that definitely aren't tied to a newer book I'm going to review later this week, it has come to my attention that while I like a lot of the Ghost Rider characters, and I like the Riders themselves when they show up in other books, I don't have a lot of practical experience with them outside of the first Robbie Reyes series because I came across it in print before I had Marvel Unlimited. If anyone here is well-versed in the character and can give some recommendations on older runs, I would very much appreciate it. (Even if they haven't been added to MU, I will still remember them and keep an eye out for them. So don't be afraid to go obscure)
As cool as Cosmic Ghost Rider is, I wish we could have seen more of Frank as a regular Ghost Rider. What do you think?

The problem with this is it's more an example of plot armor than badassery 😅 Prior to this moment, it was never established that the Penance Stare wouldn't work if you had no regrets. It's simply an attack that turns all the pain you've caused over your lifetime back on you. What would regretting it have to do with that? Nothing; that is, until a couple of writers came along and wanted to slap that in to get Punisher fans hyped up. Another instance of writing like this, also with the Punisher, is that time The Punisher "scared" The Joker by threatening to blow his brains out. Another feat that really makes no sense in the long run. Are we really expected to believe that in his entire career of being a homicidal maniac, The Joker never had a gun held to his head by someone who was willing to actually pull the trigger? Joker has been shown to have absolutely no fear of death. As established in The Killing Joke, he already mentally died the moment he crawled out of that puddle of chemicals. Everything he lives for as the Joker are, ironically, things he doesn't need to be alive achieve. But of course, all of that crumbles because Punisher threatens to blow his head off, because... I dunno, his skull shirt is spoopy?
I don't mind cool character moments, including an awesome crossover moment where a character like The Punisher gets the better of The Joker, but the writers also need to know how to... Write. Like, I can see The Joker being *mad.* All his plans for Batman would be ruined because this military meathead is gonna blow his brains out. That would be amazing to see. Punisher just smirking as Joker is throwing a temper tantrum. But no, they make him *scared* because that makes Punisher look cooler, and gives the fanboys something to rub their PP tips to. Coming back around from that egregious digression, it would be much cooler if, in that moment with Ghost Rider, Franky was simply able to recover from the Penance Stare and keep fighting because, despite the pain and wounds inflicted by the Penance Stare, his conviction to carry out his justice is just *that* strong. A way to make the character look cool while also not spitting on one of the most underratedly powerful abilities in Marvel comics. But no, instead they just make him immune to the Penance Stare, again, so that the fanboys can get their rocks off.
We need to stop this dog shit writing. Stuff like this is why manga is murdering comics. Writer's willingness to just toss logic and established lore out the window in the name of promoting a characters popularity is exactly what's degrading the comic medium so much. We need more stories written for the characters, and not the ridiculous hype surrounding them. This kind of writing is why we have people who actually believe that Batman could beat Superman in a 1 on 1 fight.
Which ghost rider should be the Scott Lang to Johnny blaze’s Hank Pym of the MCU? Danny Ketch, Robbie Reyes or Both?
If only One has to leave and never come back, which one are you choosing?
