So the third Guardians of the galaxy vol 2 is coming very soon and everyone been waiting to see the third movie for a very long time and this film will explore rockets past and meet the person who was responsible for making him the way he was But I had figured out what is really going on from what i had seen in the trailer and what his origin will be in the movie.
So we know his backstory will be a bit different from the comics but rocket is still a genetically engineered raccoon from halfworld because halfworld does exist because saw the name of it in the first film Rocket's historical record, So instead of human like aliens that found the planet in the comics it was the high evolutionary who found halfworld and created all the genetically engineered animals known as the halfworlders, in the flashbacks we see rocket in halfworld with his friends these new two characters we see are floor and teefs now there is a Walrus in the comics who is a friend of rocket named Wal Rus who did made a cameo in a painting in the second film so it's not sure if he is that character unless he changed his name later on but we don't know if teefs is like well even still alive.
But what happened to halfworld? Is it still around i am not sure if it's destroyed but i guess we have to wait until the film comes out but these other animals we see on counter earth that are more evolved if you are wondering what they are called these are the New Men in the comics they are hyper-evolved animals created by the High Evolutionary. The Halfworlders and New Men are like the same as they are both animals from earth that were evolved but what we see here in the MCU the New Men are more evolved and look more humanoid-ish So the New Men are the successors of the halfworlders as they look more evolved as the high evolutionary wanted to make the perfect species.
So rocket's backstory is him being an early version of one of the high evolutionary perfect species that he later on knew they were not fully prefect how he thought they were gonna be and the high evolutionary moved on and created counter earth to make the New Men which are animals that are more highly evolved then the previous one he created That is what is really going on here in this movie.
But it begs the question what happened to all the animals on halfworld? because we really don't know what happened to all of his early creations. This is something we gotta wait until the film comes out.
Another thing I wanna talk about is this scene where we see the high evolutionary with Ayesha and there is that theory that he created the Sovereign race https://www.thecosmiccircus.com/gotg-3-theory-high-evolutionary-sovereign/ they are a highly advanced genetically engineered race Now Adam and Ayesha are not aliens at all in the comics as they but they were engineered begins created by enclave who are a small band of scientists who have dedicated themselves to using technology to create a benevolent world dictatorship under their rule, but it seems it was the high evolutionary that created them and not the Enclave at all As they don't exist in the MCU as the Sovereigns are the race that exist only in the MCU.
There is one thing that has been revealed in a clip and that is the high evolutionary Isn't from earth at all yeah he is not a human at all and that what they did was just really dumb because the origin of the character was that he was a human geneticist who became obsessed with further evolution experiments which he used on himself. Depending on what he hopes to gain from whatever his current experiments are, he has been a force for the greater good, and for his own dark purposes. and just removing that from what the character is just feels very dumb like yeah marvel has done this before with drax and mantis if you know what i mean but they did it because they think it would be too weird in the MCU but his origin is not that weird and would be very easy to do.

Like the MCU really doesn't care about the source material these days and now for some reason they consider it a red flag and they don't like filmmakers who are a big fan of the comics and what they are doing is sure gonna also hurt them if they keep doing this because fans know there is no point to see them if they are not gonna do these characters right and see something else that is true to what it is and giving what the fans want https://movieweb.com/marvel-producer-says-red-flag-filmmakers-comic-book-fans/ like I didn't like the changes to the character as i know i saw people hating this version of the character ever since it was revealed last year i remember people calling him the low devolutionary as a joke and man it really is true.
like is he even Herbert Edgar Wyndham? in this version in the MCU since we now know he is not a human at all unless it's some kinda twist they are doing in the end that he dies and we see some person takes up the mantle and becomes the new high evolutionary and that person could be Herbert because if high evolutionary said he went to earth long ago was it possible that he encountered and recruited scientists from there who did like his plans and wanted to join him because that would make sense for something like that to happen.
But that's all i gotta say for this but yeah that is what i do believe what rockets backstory is gonna be but who knows i could be wrong but i would not be surprised if i was right.
