I just read the latest X-Men & Kate Pryde has reinvented herself in a way none of us could have imagined. She just went from The Pirate Queen Of The Marauders right back to The Prodigy Assassin Of Ogun only this time, she's not holding back.
Shadowcat because she's responsible for the time traveling
Wolverine because he's the one physically changing everything
Here we go! Beginning of the second rounds.

Often the question is asked: what are some of your favorite LGBTQ+ characters? And most of the time we answer "oh Wiccan is cool" or "I like loki" etc. (Not everyone, but the general masses of users here). However, it's time to flip the script on the question, and instead ask: Are any of your favorite characters LGBTQ+? (Consider your top 10 favorites list) I was just thinking about this and thought it would make for an interesting discussion. Moreover, do you think it was the right decision for the character? (Please, newbies and alike, do not turn this into a homophobic argument, this is not my intention.)
Personally, Kitty Pryde is (I think) bisexual. I think it was the right step for Kitty. She's always been different from her colleagues and in a good way, and there's never been any limit to what she can accomplish, so why should there be a limit to who she can love?
@Slyme quin @LardWad420 thoughts?
For the casting of the girl who can walk through solid objects I searched for someone who's young, (obviously), has experience playing dorky characters, but at the same time can be pretty sociable. So think
Maude Apatow from Euphoria could be perfect for Kitty Pryde.
As always, I'd like your opinions on this casting choice or discuss other actors who could play this role.

Obviously, Ymir wins that fight, so I've made a slight alteration to the rules.
The rules:
Fights will usually go to knockout, unless you think the winner would just kill them.
Personality can be considered, but liberties must obviously be taken.
We're operating under the most traditional powersets for each combatant. For example: Even if Wolverine had the power to heat up his claws once, that will not be taken into consideration.
Luck powers or variations thereupon will be limited, to prevent characters like Domino or Black Cat from taking every match.
Each match will go for at least 24 hours, so that people whose daylight hours are different have a chance to answer, unless the wheel produces such a hilarious mismatch that there is a clear winner. In which case the match will go for 12. The winner will be announced in the next post.
The winner is determined by a combination of the following factors: (I can't add a list to a list apparently, so they're just numbers 7-9.)
Community votes on who would win.
My own research of their powers and tactics.
If the characters have fought before.
This match is more even, in my opinion, but we'll see how it goes...

Can somebody edit Kitty Pryde’s phasing limitations since she doesn’t need to hold her breath while phasing

The facts:
Professor X proposes 'Ariel' as Kitty Pryde's codename in X-Men Vol 1 #139, but she rejects it, and accepts Storm's proposal of 'Sprite' instead.
She is still going by Sprite (although its rarely used) as late as UXM 169-170 (where she complains about her codename), and uses no codename between 171-183 (at which point she disappears from the book for the Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini-series, where she returns as Shadowcat).
Ergo, Kitty Pryde never once uses the 'Ariel' codename in UXM, its annuals, or any other main-line marvel comic book (ie, not a mini-series or one-shot) where she makes a guest appearance (I checked all appearances that occur between her joining the X-Men and her adoption of the Shadowcat codename).
Besides the early Handbook of the Marvel Universe from 1983, the 'Ariel' codename is used for Kitty in precisely 4 comic books: Marvel Graphic Novel 5 (God Loves, Man Kills), Uncanny X-Men at the State Fair of Texas 1, and X-Men and the Micronauts #s 1 and 3.
Marvel Graphic Novel 5 was not intended to be part of mainstream continuity when first published - it was intended as a stand alone story outside the confines of the CCA. No attempt was made to align it with the ongoing story in the main comic book (specific issues are mentioned on our comic page for this book). (Indeed, the original proposal involved the killing of Magneto as the event that get the X-Men involved in investigating, something which wouldn't align with the mainstream continuity at all). The events of the book were never referenced in mainstream continuity for two decades, despite significant relevance they would have had (especially to Magneto's character arc over the next couple years). At least parts of the story were retconned into mainstream continuity in 2003, but that doesn't fix specific continuity issues with the story as published and the mainstream continuity from the period it was supposed to happen.
The other which use 'Ariel' also have significant continuity problems. (The Micronauts mini-series mysteriously lacks rogue, despite having Storm with a mohawk. State Fair of Texas has all the same continuity problems that Marvel Graphic Novel 5 has). Neither of them are ever referenced in UXM or New Mutants.
Chris Claremont knew God Loves, Man Kills was not going to be in mainstream continuity (see #5 above). He specifically chose to use the Ariel codename, despite never once using it in UXM for her, and even specifically lampshading Kitty's ongoing use of Sprite in UXM 169, about 6 months *after* Marvel Graphic Novel 5 was published. That's pretty incongruous.
Theory: Claremont used 'Ariel' intentionally to signal these books aren't part of main continuity. The above books happen in an alternate reality where Kitty accepts Professor X's suggestion of 'Ariel' as a codename. Apparently, in this reality Rogue never joins the X-Men, either. (State Fair of Texas isn't by Claremont - maybe he let Jim Salicrup in on the joke, or maybe it and the Handbook were unintended casualties of Claremont's use in God Loves, Man Kills).

(WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD FOR X-MEN / FANTASTIC FOUR VOL 2 #4 AND MARAUDERS #6-10. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT AND DO NOT WANT SPOILERS, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!)
Anyone else notice something in this issue? Something that goes against the events of Marauders #6-10? Yeah. Kate Pryde (I like Kitty better, though) was alive in this book. And I was just thinking the whole time, what the heck? We all saw her drown in Marauders #6, and it was confirmed later that the Resurrection thingy could not, for some reason, revive her. So how come she appears in Excalibur #10 (2020) and X-Men / Fantastic Four Vol 2 #4? Thoughts?
This is a post I’ve been doing for about half a week now. About different mutants.
Today’s mutant is Shadow Cat (Kitty Pryde):
What do you like about the character?
What do you not?
Anything you wish they would do with the character?
Silence. Black. Then, a bright light. Shining in her face. Minor discomfort. Am I dead? Kitty thought. No, she decided. I am alive. She tried to move, but found she couldn't. Why can't I move? The light faded, and the black covered her again.
Hours later, she heard something finally. She hated being alone with her thoughts. Voices. She tried to listen, but the outcome was never distinct, just a muffled sound that Kitty could register as talking. Maybe I am dead, Kitty thought, and I've been taken before whatever masters of death there are. Then she pondered. Of course she wondered what it would be like when she was dead; everyone did. But she expected a light, heavenly place above the clouds. Or a fiery, eternal punishment. But the reality...well, it was boring.
Her eyes began to see clearly. She was in a room...it looked like...yes, she was in the X-Mansion. So she wasn't dead. She could see people around her. A tall, muscular man who was very handsome. She felt like she knew him...What's his name? Kitty thought.
.........
Piotr. Yes, she remembered. Her beloved Piotr. Next to him was a white haired African woman...Ororo, she procured quicker. Storm. Next to her was Jean, and Scott, and Logan, and Kurt. And right beside her bedside was... the Professor.
"How are you feeling, Kitty?" Prof. X asked a dreary Kitty.
"Like my head has been smashed on a metal gong, then spun around like cotton candy."
The Professor smiled. "As I would expect. Revival is no easy process..."
Kitty stopped smiling. "Wait...I was dead?"
"Almost," Charles said. "By the time we found you, you were badly burnt, had a nasty stab wound, a badly broken ankle, and suffering from extreme smoke poisoning. Anywhere else you would have died."
Piotr spoke. "All that matters is that you are alive and healthy."
Kitty grinned. "Does anyone know why Mystique tried to kill me?"
Charles frowned. "I believe Magneto was behind it. But he's crawled back into his spider hole."
Kitty frowned and surveyed the room. "Where's Lockheed?"
"Mrggh!" Came a joyful chriping. The baby dragon flew into the room and collided with Kitty.
"I'm so glad you're safe, baby dragon!"
"He was waiting whenwe arrived back at the school," Prof. X said.
Storm stood up. "Are we not going to hunt down Magneto?"
"Though your purpose is justifiable, we will not hunt down Magneto in hatred. That makes us no better than the humans who tried to outlaw us."
"You're right, let's hunt him down, give him flowers, thank him for trying to kill Kitty, and sing Kumbaya around the campfire," Logan said sarcastically. "Geez, Charlie, you're too soft on him. Punishment is punishment, no matter who the pursuer or the receiver is."
"Fight your enemies not towards victory, but towards forgiveness," Charles said.
"Who said that?" Jean asked.
"I did," Charles replied.
Meanwhile, Magneto sat across a table from the man from Essex Corp.
"What is this master plan of yours?" Magneto asked the man.
"Simple. I get what I want, and you see the X-Men annihilated."
"But how?" Magneto asked. "I could not accomplish such with my Brotherhood."
"You chose weaklings. A more formidable opponent will give them a good run."
"More formidable than the Master of Magnetism?" Magneto asked.
"Magnetism. Childish wonders. Nothing more than a speck in what I do."
"And what would that be?" Magneto asked, offended.
"Genetics. More specifically, cloning," Mister Sinister replied.
"And how the heck will that help us?!" Magneto's patience was wearing thin with this man.
"How can the X-Men defeat..."
Multiple figures stepped out from the shadows.
"...themselves?"
Kitty was making a PBJ sandwich when the man called. Kitty picked up the phone.
"Hello?" She said while chewing her sandwich.
"I'm looking for a Professor Charles Xavier," man's voice responded from the other end.
She put the phone on her shoulder. "Professor! It's for you!"
The Professor came rolling out of his study. Almost robotically, like instinct, he answered the phone and began a long conversation with the man.
A knock came on the door. Kitty answered it. There in front of her sat the Professor.
"What the..." Kitty turned and saw that the Professor was still on the phone. But he quickly hung up and turned to face the other Professor.
"My word... an exact copycat of me!" Both of them said at the same time.
"Professor, what's going on? Are you playing tricks on me?" Kitty asked.
"That man is an imposter!" Both of them said. "Take him down!"
Kitty thought hard. An imposter...
She moved quick and decisively. She pushed both Professors out of their chairs. They both fell back. But, as she suspected, the one that had been on the phone fell straight to the floor, his legs bent in awkward positions. The one that arrived at tye door, however, fell slower. He was using his legs to take off the brunt of the fall!
"Aha!" Kitty lunged at the imposter and pinned him against the wall. "Who sent you? And how?"
The man spoke to her in her mind. I am a clone...and there are more of me...
"Who sent you?!"
The clone spoke aloud. "Nathaniel...Ess...Ess..."
Then he lost consciousness, as Kitty had cut off his air flow. She gasped and released her grip. He was still breathing.
Kitty turned to the real professor. "Sorry, just had to be sure." She helped Prof. X back into his wheelchair.
"Who could have done it?" Kitty asked.
"Only one man. The head of Essex Corp."
"And that is?..."
Professor was grim as he surveyed the clone.
"Mistet Sinister."
The shot rang throughout the small woodlands. Many people who heard it ignored it, but the mutants, they saw it as an act of war. The good mutants versus bad ones. Such a peril was as old as mutants themselves.
Inside a small cottage, a triumphant mutant known as Mystique cackles, a pistol still smoking within her hand.
"Thought it'd be that easy to get rid of me, huh?" said a voice from behind her.
Mystique turned around.
"I can phase, idiot," Kitty said, smiling.
"Dammit!" Mystique fired another shot and flipped over a table. Kitty phased and let the bullet pass through her.
"Nice move. With skills like those you should join the Knicks," Kitty quipped. She kneed Mystique in the head.
"Though you are no longer the naive childish mutant you once were, Katherine Pryde, you still are clumsy," Mystique said, blood trickling down her lip.
"Mrggh!" Lockheed warbled a battle cry and blasted a wisp of fire toward Mystique. She dodged, of course, being Mystique. The blast collided with the wooden wall, and a fire started.
"Now to kill you," Mystique said quietly. She approached Kitty with a knife. First, Mystique kicked out Kitty's bad ankle.
"Crap!" Kitty yelled. She grimaced at her throbbing ankle. Now it was broken. Mystique brought the knife up, quickly and calculated. It made impact in Kitty's chest. She fell to the floor. Blood poolec around her.
Mystique chuckled. "Of all people, Magneto wanted a little girl killed."
She crouched down.
"I want you to know this isn't personal. But I enjoyed being your adversary."
The blue mutant walked out the door. The house was now in flames. Around Kitty, flaming beams and plaster plummeted down from the ceiling. Kitty phased, letting the knife fall from her body. But she was injured, badly.
"Lock-Lockheed," Kitty groaned, "I don't think I'll make it. Go save yourself." Kitty coughed, then passed out.
Lockheed was fully aware that Kitty might die. But Kitty had evaded the cruel grasp of death many times before. Why would this be any different? Nevertheless, the dragon flew to get help.
The dragon flew with much speed. He knew he had to; Kitty did not have time to spare. He arrived in New York. At the X-Mansion, the X-Men had arrived from their mission.
Professor X glanced in Kitty's bedroom.
"Kitty, we're back. How was--" Charles stopped. He could not sense Kitty's mind anywhere in the room. In fact, she wasn't in the house.
Charles rolled down the ramp, into the foyer. Piotr (Colossus), Logan, Scott, Jean, and Kurt stood, laughing and talking to each other.
"Professor? What's wrong?" Jean asked.
"Kitty's not in the house."
At that, everyone filed into Cerebro.
Around them flew red holograms and projections, representinv mutants.
"I've locked onto Kitty," said Charles. "She's dying..."
"Where is she?" Colossus asked.
"Ontario."
Outside, a boy was enjoying an ice cream cone. Suddenly, a nearby basketball court opened up to the sky. A sleek black jet flew out and raced away at tremendous speeds.
The boy's mouth dropped open, ice cream dribbling out.
The jet landed at the edge of the forest.
"I see smoke!" Scott said.
"Katya! I'm coming!" Colossus charged into the woods. Trees broke down as he ran. Wolverine followed, sniffing out for Kitty.
Colossus found the burning house.
"God, if only Ororo were here..." Piotr broke into the house, his organic metal skin donned.
"Oh no! Katya!" He picked up a limp body belonging to Kitty Pryde. Fortunately, she was breathing. Unfortunately, she had a broken ankle, a lethal stab wound in her chest, and probably smoke poisoning.
Colossus carried her out of the house, and hurried to the jet.
"She needs immediate medical attention," Colossus barked.
They loaded her onto the jet, and the huge machine lifted off and flew through the night sky.
Meanwhile, Mystique sat in a comfortable chair. Magneto sat opposite her. They bothed sipped tea.
"Did you send out the others?" Mystique stopped drinking the tea.
"The doofuses? Unfortunately. But they have John with them. It should be fine," Magneto replied.
Mystique rolled her eyes. "Great. Just who we needed as spies. A walking human Jello, an amphibian geek, and a pyromaniac."
Magneto tsked. "Do not disrespect your brotherhood members, no matter how stupid they are."
A loud, sharp knock came unto the door beside them.
"Who could that be?" Asked Mystique.
"Our wonderful guest, from the House of Essex. I believe he has a plan to help me eliminate the X-Men, once in for all."
Definitely to be continued!
