King in Black (Event)

Both events seem to be similar, so why don't we analyse them and compare them?

I would like you to tell me your views about quality of the stuff mentioned above and anything else you think should be pointed out. I also want you to list both positives and negatives. Let's see which will prevail.

Honestly, this was underwhelming. I expected epic team-up like in previous issue but we got solo fight between Eddie Brock with Enigma Force, Mjiolnir and Silver Surfer board (all of which he used to make an axe) and Knull. The latter got his ass kicked so pathetically he literally evaporated (and with him his dome). However, it's cool that Venom got his Symbiote back, freed other Symbiotes and became King in Black (without Enigma Force, of course).

Overall, I didn't mind this issue but it was a bit rushed and not as epic as other KiB issues so far. I hope Venom #200 will do better.

This comic starts with Brunnhilde's inspiring speech.

Then, Jane tries to fight the Celestial. She struggles but luckily, new Valkyrie joins her. However, her help doesn't prevent Jane from being trapped in Celestial's corpse.

The Jane's visions inside the corpse try to tempt her. But she refuses.

Meanwhile, army of Valkyries that has just arrived try to severe the connection with All-Black. And they succeed.

And so, the souls are freed. Alta and Sentry too (not sure if you're happy with his send-off, @Mørningstar but I hope you won't complain).

To be continued in King in Black #5 (obviously).

This comic, as well as this entire series is great. It has a nice art and thrilling adventure style. The striking moral of this story is very moving. Though, my only nitpick is 'clickbait' cover. I won't complain about not knowing new Valkyrie's name as it will be revealed in Mighty Valkyries.

It was not a bad read. I loved Scream using Hellfire to fight Knull and managing to hurt him. But the Demagoblin stuff is too short and the ending is kind of anti-climatic. I would like to see how (if at all) it will be resolved in King in Black #5.

Possible spoilers.

This comic starts with Sentry's soul trapped in dead Celestial. We see how much he's suffering.

Then, we see more of Hildegarde's backstory which is nice. I find this warrior as a little girl adorable.

Unnamed Valkyrie is in Vanaheim after victorious fight with Vanlandi drinking and feeling reluctant of going back to dead Celestial corpse she was trapped in...

....while other women want to realise Brunnhilde's plan.

At the same time, Brunnhilde speaks to Ivanir in Valhalla.

So, the Valkyries perform the ritual and throw the needle.

Synergy Valklyrie is still talking to Mr Horse about her fears.

And Hildegarde reach out to catch the needle...with no avail.

I can't wait for the final issue. I like that every comic gives us POV of different Valkyries: MCU-like in #1, Dani Moonstar in #2 and Hildegarde in here. I think the next personal narration might be done by Jane or Brunnhilde. It bugs me how the new black Valkyrie doesn't care about fight but I understand she might have some sort of PTSD. Overall, she's better than I thought at first. But if they don't give her the name in KiB:RotV #4 or the Mighty Valkyries comic, I'll be mad! 😠

😱Oh, man, that was the best issue so far! 👌So many things happening here. Jean Grey reaching out to Dylan and other heroes, leading them into battle is so badass. The united forces of Cyclops without glasses, Doctor Strange with his Asgardian staff and the lightning of Thor and Storm are super cool. And the God of light, Knull's opposite, is freaking Enigma Force! With Mister E in KiB: Symbiote Spider-Man, this makes sense and I love it. Eddie Brock is new Captain Universe and I don't mind it.

As for Demon Days: X-Men preview, it wasn't bad but a bit minor in comparison to the main KiB stuff. Japanese versions of Juggernaut and Emma Frost look nice and art is cute. Not sure if I'll read this manga though.

Story recap:

The comic starts with Dani Moonstar fighting in New York. She saves people and struggles to fight Symbiote dragons throughout the whole comic while narrating. Meanwhile, in Valhalla, Jane learns the truth about the headless Celestial that trapped our new/old Valkyrie and Sentry from Brunnhilde.

Speaking of that axe, with Jason Aaron being himself, it had to be Jarnbjorn.

While our newcomer goes to Vanaheim to retrieve her weapon from the prince of thieves, Jane retrieves something from Asgardian Armory and travels to Earth, all while riding Brightwind. She gives an aid to Dani and Hildegarde arrives. All three (former) Valkyries stand together as the issue ends.

General thoughts: I liked it a lot better than the first issue. The various colourful locations look very nice and Valkyries teaming-up in combat is what I wanted from this limited series in the first place. I liked Dani's point of view on the whole invasion. Synergy Valkyrie doesn't seem so bad anymore and retconning Jarnbjorn to be hers is not a big deal for me (especially when you compared it to Aaron's other retcon from this week). Actually, it differentiates her from MCU one in a good way. It still bugs me we didn't learn her actual name but not as much as before. All combined with fantasy adventure elements and a plan to give aid in war against Knull make a really nice mix.

While KiB is very entertaining and every issue is way different than others, some of its plot points tend to be quite predictable. Here are some that repeat in every issue:

• Symbiotes everywhere (obviously)

• Iron Man doing/trying to do something cool with Symbiotes: blow them up (1st issue), taking over Symbiote dragon with Extremis (2nd) and using it to take over Celestial (3rd)

• Dylan is the McGuffin and/or takes symbiotes off people.

• Knull kills someone: Sentry (1st), Eddie Brock (2nd) and Thor (3rd, he's still alive but Knull said he killed him)

• Epic cliffhanger at the end.

I hope the rest won't be as predictable as these.

From yesterday’s issues of King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes #1 and King in Black: Gwenom vs Carnage #1

Plot twist: All of the symbiotes find out that Knull has been saying that “THEY’RE” his favorite, and band together to tell him that he’s a no good player who doesn’t deserve them.

I just have to say, this is all I expected from Scream in this comic! Hellmark action against Hybrid was cool and it was wholesome seeing her save yet another homeless orphan like she's supposed to. I want more and I can't wait till March for KiB: Scream tie-in.

Now, let's mention Ravencroft. Plague is really nice concept and Cortland Kassady lives up to the name as he makes everyone in the institute cough. He leaves to serve Knull elsewhere though and I didn't care for it as much as for Scream.

It was a bit underwhelming. I expected Dani Moonstar to return and join an army of Valkyries but we only got Jane and Synergy Valkyrie telling her backstory and showing she's better at this job than Foster, yet not telling much about herself. Not even her name.

But Sentry flashbacks and Mr Horse were wholesome.

So, this comic is quick. Jess gets rescued by Octavia Vermis and injects herself with Marchand Serum. Octavia (who revealed herself to have spider-powers as well) convinces her to help her steal some stuff for the cure. First from Hydra, then Stegron (@BANEkilla98 might know this guy) who escaped from Ryker's after Knull invasion and last but not least, Stark. War Machine catches Spider-Woman on downloading some data and they fight. Drew wins, tells Rhodey that he and Carol should have trusted her and leaves. Next, she and Vermis go to secret volcano lair, where they meet Ophelia, Octavia's daughter, and finally... the owner of the lair, the High Evolutionary with army of clones of Jessica's mother.

Pros:

• This issue made me laugh many times.

• Jess finally meets Herbert.

Cons:

• If you thought this would be important for KiB plot, I have to disappoint you. The black goo everywhere is the only connection.

• The talk with Rhodey that's supposed to be dramatic wasn't like that very much.

Flash Thompson is back! 😱 Well, kind of. He's still dead and after Eddie died he met him and Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Hive. Now, they're gonna team-up to retrieve Venom symbiote back from Knull.

As many of us know, the multiverse in comics is created through time travel -or at least that is the type of realities the comics concentrate on- , but the endgame continues to refer to new facts as branching facts and that time travels are not doppelgängers but actually one person (when Gamora and Maw Thanos asked) If there are 2 different nebulae he said no, it is the same nebula from another timeline) Does this mean that for example the old Spider-Man movies , xmen , 2003’s hulk and blade are not from the same universe with different timelines but are actually completely separate facts so there are big differences between them like people's birthdays , Heritage, ethnicity, etc., and out-of-time beings like Dormamo will have other versions of it in these facts as well. (He is not one across those separate facts)

SPOILERS AHEAD

Recap: This comic takes place in East Harlem during Knull invasion. Night Nurse's Clinic is covered in Symbiote goo. The dragons attack. Jess, Captain Marvel, aided by Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Clint Barton try to fight them. Spider-Woman and Rand use their zapping abilities to take out one of the dragons but it's hard to do. Carol doesn't use her abilities because she has different orders and is there only to support. Jess injects herself with more Marchand Serum, making her Venom Blast more powerful. She kills the dragon. However, she stil punches it, unstable and out of control. Carol and Iron Fist fight Jess. When they defeat her, Linda Carter puts magical handcuffs from Dr Strange on Drew, whom she imprisons in the basement in a tank made especially for Hulk. Carol destroys vial with the Serum wanting to find a cure for Jess. Drew yells at her, saying that she wants to help Rebecca and Gerry. After that, she gets rescued by suprisingly alive Octavia Vermis.

Pros:

• The art is as good as always.

• Drew is scary as Hell, in a shocking and exciting way.

• It doesn't invlolve King in Black too much, so you can read it without knowing what's been going on in other tie-ins.

Cons:

• Some jokes, while good, are a little out of place.

When miles first attempts a attack on knull....knull doesnt refer to miles as human,child or host...he refers to miles as spider.

That's odd. Incredibly odd considering that the venom-spider symbol comes from knull and it's just venom trying imitate the dragon symbol and makes a spider.

Personality: Zeke’s a tranquil person. He usually doesn’t show negative emotions unless pushed to his limit. He will keep a calm state even in battle unless it’s in a personal fight or a fight that means everything. He will, however, express his positive emotions too. He’s kinda blunt though. He isn’t completely blunt but is blunt to a degree. He will build up his friends & allies in his own way too.

Powers –

Due to being the son of Blue Marvel & Captain Marvel, he was born with a physiology mutated by radiation generated from the then unstable event horizon to the Negative Zone. Also, due to being the son of Captain Marvel, he was born with his mother his’s Human/Kree enhanced physiology. Due to this mix hesitate, he’s a force to be reckoned with but his parents knew how strong he could be. He’d be stronger than them combined. So, while Carol was pregnant, they added drugs to dampen Zeke powers permanently. Even afterwards, Zeke grew to be extremely powerful.

The powers in heisted from his father his are:

· Antimatter Manipulation: Zeke is an Antimatter Generator and Reactor; the source of half his power is the energy released from anti-matter. Anti-matter releases energy with 100% efficiency. One gram of anti-matter contains the same energy as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. One droplet could power New York City for a full day. Antimatter is the same as normal matter, except that the sub-atomic particles are the opposite charge. Therefore, antimatter and normal matter cannot coexist without exploding.

o Concussion Beams: Zeke can release beams of pure solidified antimatter that causes concussive damage. The effects of these beams rang from slight push, hard hit, knock-out, minor, and major damage, shattering, and total annihilation of the target.

o Concussive Force Bolts: Zeke can release anti-matter energy from his hands as bolts of concussive force.

o Stun Bolts: Zeke can project low-energy of antimatter bolts that render human beings unconscious.

· Optic Blast: Zeke can project antimatter beams from his eyes, of various intensity.

· Energy Constructs: Zeke can turn antimatter into any item he's seen, can imagine, or has a good idea how it functions.

· Energy Enhanced Punches: Zeke can focus antimatter into his fists, which he can then use to shatter substances.

· Energy Pulse: Zeke can produce a surge of antimatter from his entire body, as a massive omnidirectional pulse of devastation power.

· Energy Shields: Zeke has been seen creating antimatter shields, around himself and to his. The shields are strong enough to deflect and absorb charging attacks from Juggernaut.

· Immense Strength: Zeke possesses vast levels of superhuman strength and is stated to be in a close league as Sentry, Hulk, and Thor strength wise (some of the most physically strongest heroes in Marvel); Zeke has the potential to be the most powerful hero on Earth. He has spared with a stable Sentry, Doc Green Hulk, & his mother Captain Marvel. They all were surprised by his strength level at this age.

· Invulnerability: Zeke possess invulnerable similar to Sentry and has no physical weaknesses; he can withstand tremendous impact forces, high-caliber bullets, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. When swimming to his base in the Mariana Trench (deepest part of ocean), he remains unaffected by the Ocean's pressure. Zeke has also withstood a nuclear detonation at ground zero, without any apparent physical trauma whatsoever. He has also survived a solar flare.

· Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his invulnerability, it is possible to injure Zeke. If injured, his body is capable of quickly repairing damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than the normal human body.

· Superhuman Reflexes: Zeke reflexes are superior to those of the finest human athletes. He's capable of catching bullets and dodging projectiles.

· Superhuman Agility: Zeke's natural balance, agility, and body coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.

· Superhuman Stamina: Zeke's enhanced musculature is far more efficient than that of a human. His muscles produce very no fatigue toxins, thereby granting limitless stamina.

· Self-Sustenance: Zeke can survive in harsh environments without air, food, or water. He's also able to survive in the deepest parts of the ocean and unaided in space.

· Superhuman Speed: Zeke is capable of thinking, moving, and reacting vastly faster than any normal human being. He's shown to be fast enough to keep up with Sentry, which means he can move and think thousands of times faster than an average human.

· Flight: Zeke flies by manipulation of gravitons, manipulation of magnetic fields, control of his absolute molecular movement, and utilizing his superhuman speed. He can fly far beyond supersonic speeds, reach speeds of at least escape velocity (7 miles per second), and has been seen flying into space unaided under his own power. He's also been seen traveling to the moon in less than 20 minutes, flying at a casual speed. This would indicate that he is at LEAST capable of flying at 675,000 mph (187miles per second).

· Superhuman Sense: Zeke possesses sensory abilities that exceed far above normal human capabilities.

· Enhanced Vision: Zeke can see down to the quark level.

· Enhanced Sense of Smell: Zeke can track the scents of people like a dog.

· Enhanced Sense of Taste: Zeke can taste things that are tasteless.

· Enhanced Hearing: Zeke can tune his hearing to hear frequencies humans can’t & hear over vast distances.

· Enhanced Sense of Touch: Zeke can touch something & if, say, someone was walking on it he would feel that.

· Enhanced Mental Perception: Zeke possesses the ability to sense & comprehend things on levels that far exceed human capabilities like seeing Cthulhu.

· Molecular Manipulation: Zeke can affect matter at a molecular level with a great degree of precision and control. He displayed this ability, when he not only healed Captain America, but further his boosted a weakened Magento’s electromagnetic abilities. It is not known if this power is limited to electromagnetic particles only, or if Zeke is able to affect all matter, allowing him to alter an object's molecular composition or transmute elements.

· Light Generation: Zeke has exhibited the ability literally "create his own light". He can control its direction, intensity, and duration.

The powers he gained from his mother, Captain Marvel.

· Energy Absorption: Zeke can absorb a wide variety of energy and utilize it to further augment his own super-strength, speed, invulnerability, energy projection, and other powers. Extremely high-energy attacks may eventually overload Zeke’s absorbing ability, but he has shown that he can absorb and utilize energy up to the magnitude of a nuclear explosion. Zeke has also shown an ability to absorb magical energy (though not without consequence), recently demonstrated when he helped Doctor Strange defeat a formidable magic-wielding villain named Warren Traveler.

· Energy Projection: Zeke can generate extremely powerful photon/energy blasts, which are roughly equal in force to Iron Man's full-strength repulsor blasts. If he has absorbed a great amount of energy, Zeke can generate even stronger energy blasts.

· Energy Manipulation: Like his predecessor, his mother, Zeke eventually learned to better utilize his energy power for more constructive uses such as changing and alternating the various types of energy at his disposal, such as X-rays, gravitons, cosmic rays, etc. He has become extremely skilled in changing and alternating the various outputs energy at his disposal. He has shown to use said energy based abilities in ways she'd never even considered before, e.g. firing his energy stores from his eyes as well as his hands.

o Energy Constructs: Zeke showed far more refined control over his cosmic energy than in his non-empowered state of being. Potentially he can shape whatever energy he has on hand into practical shapes, like razor blades of pure energy or protective barriers for defense. Zeke showed he often used his cosmic power to create energy lances with which to stab, cut and bifurcate an enemy with. He’s able to create energy bubbles around a giant robots exhaust/energy gun in order to choke the release valve until it exploded from an internal pressure overload.

· Danger Sense: Zeke precognitive sense, called his "seventh sense," which allowed his to subconsciously recognize danger before it occurred. His seventh sense also allowed his to subconsciously predict an opponent's attacks before they made them, greatly enhancing his fighting and tactical prowess in battle.

· Hyper-Cosmic Awareness: Zeke possesses cosmic awareness, much like that of the Silver Surfer. He could visually perceive all types of energy patterns and was instantly aware of any significant disruptions in space. Eventually they became so advanced that it allowed him to see and understand threats from beyond reality, this state was coined as Hyper Cosmic Awareness.

Zeke later gained a form like his mother’s Binary form. He calls this form “Nexus”. In this state he’s a creature of pure energy. More reminiscent to a solar body than that of flesh & blood, he became a literal living star powered and bolstered through a cosmic connection to a quantum singularity either on the other end of the universe or within an entirely separate reality. Through this pandimensional breach, Zeke is able to divert small portions of the cosmic energies used to firmament genesis of a new universe into creating mentally activated disturbance of space/time around herself. Perpetuating the appearance of a living, breathing stellar effigy that he's able to shape and mold using disturbances in the space/time continuum through various lenses that focus or diffuse the relative energies she's channeling. In this state he also has:

· Absolute Force Manipulation: Zeke in his Nexus form had almost limitless stores of raw energy he could consciously tack into for unlimited purposes. He could feed on and project almost every known form of energy up and down the EM Spectrum able to radiate heat, light, cosmic, x-rays, and the like as well as gravity; with which to presumably use in a telekinetic fashion. Operating objects remotely with fine enough precision even from vast distances with concentration. His EM Based powers outclassing even those of Photon. he could even harness other forms of the fundamental forces of reality such as nuclear fission and nuclear fusion given his star based energy physiology. Often showing a steady flux of cold "pseudo flames" coruscating in small spheres around his head and hands that represent the greatest regions of his concentration. The total amount of energy he can manifest is related to the cross-section, or "'window" he allows to open between universes. For example, an 8-inch diameter "hole" in the surface of a point singularity would let out a torrent of various energies.

· Faster-than-light Flight: As Nexus, he can levitate through space unaided. By directing stellar energy uni-directionally, he has a means of propulsion enabling his to fly at light speed. Whether he can travel unaided through inter-universe regions is not yet known. What is known is he's able to reach planet to planet and galaxy to galaxy in hours when he traverses across the cosmos at will.

· Vastly Augmented Abilities: In his altered form, Zeke's have all been supercharged to an incredible degree. That being strength, speed, resilience, stamina, agility, and the like are well and truly above the natural parameters of baseline homo sapiens and well beyond those of his base abilities. Putting his on par with the likes of Galactus's Heralds in terms of physical prowess, his energy control and output are similarly bolstered to an incredible degree. Being capable of controlling and alternating different force types to much greater degree's than he could before. His 7th sense is also enhanced to the point of having greater range and more conscious control, gaining a sensitivity to the flux of ambient cosmic energies around his both bestowing and increasing certain heightened perceptions he already has. Using it as a means to expand his sensory range well beyond the physical spectrum and to the farthest reaches of the cosmos. he also doesn't require the need to eat, sleep or breath while in the void of outer space, seeming to subsidize on his own internal energy over human sustenance.

· Wormhole Connection: Zeke’ penultimate cosmic power stems from a hyperspatial link between himself and the region of space which acts as the exit-point of a singularity's ultimate inward collapse out of this universe and into another. Nexus is apparently able to apply a mental filter to these lenses, allowing only the energies he chooses to pass through. It was believed she'd lost these abilities after contact to the white hole that energized his had been severed, but Cru restored this power potential and eke could always re-enable the transformation either by absorbing enough energy or using Black Holes as a cosmic link instead.

Powers Gained from Power Cosmic:

In Zeke’s home dimension, he killed Galactus & once he did, so he absorbed the Power Cosmic as a whole. He did however gave the majority of it away to others who wanted to be heroes. He does retain some powers from the Power Cosmic:

· Cosmic Teleportation: Zeke can teleport across solar systems but

· Interdimensional Portals Generation: Zeke can create portals to other dimensions, layers of reality, & other realms.

· Telepathy: Zeke has displayed the ability of telepathy & it appears to be on a galactic level.

· Telekinesis: Zeke has displayed telekinetic powers. He can move buildings with just a wave of his hand.

· Transmutation: Zeke always makes money out of the air molecules.

Relationships

Surge: Zeke 1st landed in Earth 616 (the main universe) at the X-Mansion. surge just so happen to be nearby. He absorbed excess electricity from her to jumpstart his system from being dang near eviscerated by the Black Winter. He was aided back into mental stability with the help of Jean. during that time, he & Surge became very close. He comes to visit her from frequently. They have a thing for each other.

I know you guys have seen this multiple times already, but I announced I was doing this post like a month ago so you cannot pin it on me! I'm innocent! I have rights!

Anyways

(SPOILERS. THE FOLLOWING REVIEW AND QUESTIONS CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR KING IN BLACK #1)

So, I took time to read it today, and...

Dang.

First, Knull's symbiote dragons in the THOUSANDS rain down and cover New York ENTIRELY in symbiote. Then, Knull takes down some powerful heroes in one stroke. When they send in Sentry who is basically almost god, Knull easily rips him in half and absorbs the Void! Like what the heck? Sentry is one of the most powerful superheroes out there! Karma, I guess, since remember Sentry ripped Ares in half. And I think Thanos ripped Iron Man in half once... if this ain't dark then I can't wait to read Thor #10, because my comics catalog said Thor #10 was Cates' darkest story yet. Some symbiote covered Celestials come down. Knull then decides he doesn't like light or skies or whatever and covers the ENTIRE FREAKING PLANET in symbiote stuff. That is...CRAZY. Like BULLCRAP WHAT THE HECK crazy. After that, Knull reveals he wants to kill Dylan, takes away Venom and lets Brock fall to his apparent death (though we all know it won't happen).

Questions: What could this mean for Earth? Why does Knull want Dylan? And what do you think might happen to the heroes who were smothered in symbiote? I think they'll become maybe Knull's pawns. Marvel won't kill them off (probably).

I think Cates is trying to make Knull all powerful, because apparently "powerful make good villain!"

And lastly, your thoughts for those of you who have read it?

And to those who have not, I extremely suggest it for Venom fans (or just a pretty good story).

I finally took time to read Web of Venom: Empyre's End! Overall it was an informing book, tied up Empyre but mainly focused on the coming of Knull!

For one, the art was great and made Knull look like even more of a maniacal creep. General Kalamari rescues Talos from his pod, while he repeatedly said not to rescue him. Talos had been part of a group sent to investigate a planet, and were interrupted and taken down by an armada of Knull's invading symbiotes. All of this precedes his arrival on Earth. Which makes me wonder why Knull wants Earth so badly. Does he want to enslave everyone with his symbiotes?

The most important question, though, is if this comic changed anybody's thoughts about King in Black! Or if it excited anybody who planned on reading it!
