Razor’s team landed in San Francisco hideout of Crimeforce. As Porta-Copter (the machine that had taken them there) needed to be recharged, they were going to go to P.H.O.N.E.’s Medical Department by cars. Vehicles were very similar to those used by medical and technical staff of P.H.O.N.E’s Institute. The building itself was located near the University of Stanford, the center for top minds of physics and medical scientists. Its architecture resembled the style mixing futuristic and modern approach in design. The front part was made of glass and metal, with spiraling structures and spacious windows. The squad parked in the L-3 parking lot and approached the building between Quarry Road and Campus Drive. On the way there, they turned on their disguising devices. Agent Steele, Alec and Bardine weren’t there with them, as they would use their skills in case of emergency. Every Crimeforce member had a microphone on their body to communicate freely, without suspicion. Griffig didn’t need it as he could easily project his thoughts to his comrades. Razor started giving instructions:
“Ok. You know your roles. No casualties. If you’re being attacked, just stun the oppressor. Let’s go.”
Our team came out of the cars and split up. Even though they had disguises, interface in their helmets or masks were showing unique colored marking for each member.
Razor and Green-Byte reached the card reader. Halftrapaw was disguised as an elderly guy in his late 60s alas Poise used his camouflage to go there undetected. When August scanned the employee ID card, the robotic voice said: “Doctor Richard Uppey Senior. Welcome to the P.H.O.N.E. Medical Center.”
‘Our tech department did really good job with those fake IDs’ He thought to himself.
After going into the elevator to the 10th floor, August entered the server room with Gogaji. He could see green marking around his companion and a tablet PC with cables connected to the server’s ports. The screen went from black to blue and white code letters and numbers started to appear. Then the files had been downloaded after a couple of minutes. Jason Poise said:
“Ok. Done. There is a file with the info about SACH. Let’s see it.” He tapped on the screen. The file opened and two men looked through it. It contained information about chemicals used in the preparation of the serum and its side effects. They didn’t have time to look through the whole file. As the Gogaji was about to send it, the two men were struck by one unexpected information. To be precise, the bioengineer from Iowa State University in the project team turned out to be Maya Halftrapaw. She was a younger cousin of August, who he hadn’t met for a long time.
‘Maya? How is that possible?’ he thought. However, the time was of the essence so Gogaji sent the file and they came back to the main hall, where they were going to wait for unexpected events, if they were about to occur. They contacted the other teams using a code: “Ok. Green apple and orange in the basket.”
“Ok. Wanna go to Blackpink’s concert? I’ll have my icy blue top.” Replied Shoulder Blade.
“Yeah, sure. Don’t forget the juice.” Said Razor. That was a signal. Their mission was about to begin. Gemma looked at Razor’s orange marking. She felt a relief that his mission went well.
Gemma, Sub-Zero and invisible Griffig entered the facility. Sub-Zero’s marking was icy blue, agent Morovar’s was pink. The robotic voice said, as agent Morovar scanned her ID card:
“Doctor Stella Zembrutsky. Welcome to the P.H.O.N.E. Medical Center.”. The very same thing happened with Derto Jones. “Medical assistant Martin Arban. Welcome to the P.H.O.N.E. Medical Center.”
Laboratories were located on the 7th floor. The team used the elevator to enter the bioengineering laboratory in the middle of the hall, wearing lab equipment and safety clothes. The safe had been found. It contained the vials with the serum. However, they didn’t know the code. Fortunately, Griffig read the mind of the lab staff to get that. Gemma opened the safe, while Derto used a freezing container to secure the vial and SACH from destruction. Weird behavior of “medical staff” went on surprisingly unnoticed because of remarkable use of mind control from Dawson Youto. The job was done. The team started heading towards the elevator. They were coming back one at a time to evade suspicion. The last one to go was Gemma Morovar.
While August and Jason entered the facility, another agent began his work. Translucent man phased through the walls of the building searching for security room and cameras. As soon as he found it, he possessed security guard and made him drop on the ground unconscious. “Night-night, baby.”- Spook said to the guard. –“Okay, let’s see what is currently the most watched series.” He looked at computer screen, analyzing cameras’ positions in the building. “Ha ha! Found you!” He exclaimed vigorously. Then, he reached the walls near the server room and phased through the camera, deactivating it. He did that with the camera in labs as well. Suddenly, he smelled an incredible fragrance hitting his nostrils. He followed his urge to eat the meal that emitted this smell. He floated in the air cartoonishly. He entered the kitchen and he saw a cake in the fridge. It was deliciously looking apple pie. Hungry ghost started eating it, when something grabbed him by a throat and claws started holding his arm. “Stop, intruder!” Creature spoke. This was troubling. No mortal had ever been able to touch him. He had no time to think as the strike of colorful light blinded him. The creature that grappled him pushed him through the floor. The only thing that he saw was the aura of Shoulder Blade getting closer and closer really fast. ‘No-no-no-no-no!!!’ He thought, but it was too late to stop his momentum. He phased through Gemma, possibly causing her cloaking device to shut off. He reached the underground floor of the facility when he finally stopped. He turned around to look at his oppressor, who started to float in his direction. The creature looked like a ghost with long tail, sharp claws and was covered in multicolored light phasing through its entire astral form. Its face had blue eyes and mouth looking at Spook furiously. Spook trembled nervously, taking out his gun and saying to himself. “It sure ain’t my lucky day.”
