There is a discord, it's not that active
Well... I'd love to stick around but this space sure isn't what it used to be. I'll leave Chameleon to his posting.
Hope everyone is well! See yall eventually
How are things Morning?
I sure hope so! It was a rough year to start
Update on my life: I got on anti-depressants about 8 weeks ago. It kicked in about four weeks ago, so I've actually been doing better than ever.
Hit my one year mark at my job. First full time job i've held for one year. Which means i get a pay raise and a health spending account. So I'm pumped! It also means i get paid holidays now, three weeks.
My wife and I are leaving in a few weeks for a holiday in the Rockies. I'm psyched!
I'm also working on taking on ore hobbies. I just got a Scene club membership to intentionally go to more movies.
And my best friend announced last month he's expecting. I'm going to be an uncle! I'm so excited.
Well, I'm no mod, and im not that involved here. But I'm just saying there might be a reason this post is pretty dead.
This post used to be a place for people to chat and catch up. You kind of just use it to dump pictures and thoughts on chameleon
@LardWad420 That's pretty awesome! I just came into some extra money from my tax return. I'm pretty excited. It's paying for my vacation in a few weeks.
Chameleon, have you ever considered just chilling out on the off topic? You post so frequently and posts that have next no ability to facilitate discussion. For those who actually want to chat on here, it's pretty hard because it's like 80% just pictures and posts from you.
Not saying you shouldn't participate in discussion or anything, but like so much of this post is just you spamming chameleon stuff
Well what's new with everyone else?
Hope everyone's doing good!
Nice to see Faze and others are still around. Seems like most of my check ins have only found chameleon talking about chameleon
In the F4 Movie Stan Lee noted he had no consultation even about the movie.
Its pretty common for the creators not to maintain creative control
It's not great, but Chris Claremont was one of the best writer's of the xmen ever. I think the backstory is better than the whole Azazael thing. The only reason it's so bad is because marvel had to go and block him and fill in their own bull. I mean Nightcrawler physically being a demon was just dumb.
There is no organic way to undo that, but im glad its undone
I think Kurt had found Mystique who had just suffered a stroke. She revealed it to him while she recovered. At least that's what his page said. Idk, i havent read it yet.
All I know is it was Claremont's intent to do this all along, and he was blocked from it. So I'm happy he finally got to make his vision so.
Apparently, according to Kurt's page, Mystique had morphed into Azezael when she made love to Destiny, because she had been having an affair with Azezael prior to this, and so because of that his genetics were based on Azezael and mystique, with Destiny being his mother. Though Azezael had no part in conception. Afterwards his two mothers got Xavier to change their memories. Idk why, havent read the story yet, but both Mystique and Destiny wouldn't have known at the time the truth.
Its kind of like Hank Pym and his son William Nelson. Hank didn't conceive the child, a skrull impersonating him did, yet his genetics reflects that Hank is the father.
Well it's already been retconned. Formally he's now the child of Destiny and Mystique. Azazel is not the father
Osborn was there. Osborn was training him to control his alter ego, though this was more just an attempt to manipulate the void
That was during the dark avengers run
Yeah I suppose that would be ultimately how it works. Though i dont know how much the distinction matters with mystique being a genderfluid but female identifying shapeshifter.
Kind of like the Asari in Mass effect, one woman carries the child and the other woman is the "father", but it doesn't make much practical difference.
I havent read it yet so im curious how they wrote away Azazel
3 times in 20 years. In his whole history he's "died" many times. At least ten. Almost always he miraculously survives or has some plot induced revival.
