Im hoping they’re referring to action instead of sex appeal, but who knows🤷🏻♂️ it is concerning
I agree, Dare. I wanted John and Emily as well. Pedro’s a phenomenal actor, he’s just not fit for Reed imo, especially age and looks wise.
Honestly, I was a massive fan of Ioan Gruffudd’s Reed. He just…. He fit Reed. The rest of the cast wasn’t as great a fit, but he definitely made a good Reed imo. I need to rewatch those films one day.
But yeah, I can’t really speak for the rest of the new cast’s talent as I haven’t seen anything they’re in. I do agree Johnny doesn’t fit. Unsure on Ben, and I’m not huge on Sue tbh
Y’all see the F4 casting?
@Lagvaldemag I’m not quite sure yet, I don’t have all the details. Someone from my church is helping me set up a mission trip with some of their missionary friends there. But I’ll let you know as i find out more!
@Lagvaldemag im sorry, I’m just super forgetful💀😂
Buttttt, why I asked, is because I’m likely going to be in Poland for two weeks this summer🫡 so I thought that was cool

They could have at least said Groot….
@Ginger Kenobi 3 I’m praying for you my friend. I’m sorry for your loss
Round 1: I love you Wade, but with no weapons, you’re not doing much to a symbiote
Round 2: I’m inclined to give Wade the edge here. He does have experience fighting symbiotes. I’d say he’ll edge out with the victory after a tough fight
Round 3: from what I understand if the Hell Mark, I kind of feel like it gives Silence enough of an edge to be able to take Wade. I’d say he could possibly take it in some scenarios, he does have experience dealing with hell-related enemies, but I’d say Silence 7/10
I’m gonna try to remember tomorrow to do a write up for Spidey and Deadpool if I have time
Deadpool #20 (2016) has long been one of the most meaningful of his issues for me. It shows him trying to convince a girl not to commit suicide, so he takes her out to fight crime for a night, and at the end, takes her to a hospital to get the help he can’t give. It deals with a very real problem in a much more real way than other comics have handled it. I’ve seen scans of Superman saving people who jumped off of a roof, or talking them down, but the way Deadpool did it, the effort it took him to convince her not even to live, but just keep on for one more night, speaks to real suicidal people. I’m not saying I’m suicidal, I’m just saying that the way the comic dealt with a real, dark issue was very impressive to me.
There are plenty of Spidey examples I could cite, but I thought this would be a nice change of pace. I also love the Speedball example given above, I’ve loved his character since I found out about him. He’s so real, in a sense.
But yeah, great post, Slyme. Glad you came back for it
I just necroposted, my bad. Sorry mods
Honestly, I feel the same way the more I think about it. She couldve been really well done. But even in her own episode, somehow she was better at everything than people who had been in that village for years (implied to be many years, even)? Like, if they would’ve shown a montage of her being there for awhile and just said time passed differently there, I would’ve been fine with it. But no, it was “shows up and is the best”. I almost never like that trope with any character, at least not heroes
What he means is that oftentimes the comics will try to align with the MCU in characterization, and that’s possibly the case here
Before my rant, I’ll say, she did have Strange’s enchantment, so that may have been how she held all the stones. It was never indicated that he removed it during the episode.
Now, onto my opinion:
I enjoyed the first season of What If. Was it what I think it should have been? Not really. Ideally, unconnected stories with different art styles exploring what if questions about the MCU, even including some of the more questionable ones (as in, not just one thing changed. Stuff like the 1602. Idk, imo, it’s more like just alternate universes than what ifs when it’s that drastic a shift. Anyway). Kind of in the same vein as Star Wars Visions. That would’ve made for a good What If series. But I wasn’t just opposed to how they did it. And I rather enjoyed season 1, even though the way they did everything wasn’t necessarily my favorite.
But season 2 was such a mixed bag for me. And the bads were very, very bad.
Ep 1 was solid. Not my favorite but that was more a personal thing. Nebula just doesn’t capture my interest for some reason, never really has.
Ep 2 was really good, exactly what I think What If should be like. A changed decision, and the major consequences of it. And it was a solid plot (if awfully condensed, but hey, they’ve only got 30 minutes to work with).
Ep 3 was fun, even if it didn’t seem to make the most sense.
Ep 4 was, again, good. Although Thanos and Grandmaster got majorly disrespected in the way they died… ugh.
Ep 5 was good for a sequel episode, I guess, but honestly, had wayyyy too much going on. They combined Black Widow, The Winter Soldier, and Civil War (pretty much) into one episode? That’s too much for 30 minutes, at least it felt like it.
Ep 6 was good but was legit not a what if at all, really. “What if… blah blah blah…. Odin loses tesseract… blah blah”. It was confusing. Kahhori was cool (well, for then at least…) but it was just not it.
Ep 7 could’ve been so, so much better. Odin was done dirty. Really dirty. Wenwu’s “arc” if you could call it that, made no sense. Great concelt with Hela being the one sent to earth, but poor execution.
Ep 8 was a cool concept, funly done, but the Avengers didn’t really assemble. They just fought.
Ep 9 was…. Absolute trash. I hated it. As has been said, Doc Strange was done dirty, but it’s so so much worse than that…
Look, I am all for wider representation of gender and race in stuff like this. I hate when it’s forced, but if it’s natural, I’m so down. Kahhori was a cool character with a cool concept and I liked her. Until this episode. And Captain Carter was cool for an episode, but the more I see her the less I like her. Because Peggy Carter is a good character on her own. Captain Carter was cool for an episode, but she’s taking up too much of the focus. We’ve had 3 episodes this season about her. That’s a third of the season. I wanna see fresh what if concepts, not recycled Captain Carter. But what I hate so much about the push for representation is the disservice and disrespect it gives others characters. Killmonger, an experienced fighter who was also well versed in using the infinity stones, was just teleported away from the stones by kahhori? Who also was able to kill the scarlet witch zombie, and turn Hela’s magic blades on her, just before? Killmonger shouldn’t have been so easily best. Especially after his build up last season. Worse yet, Strange Supreme then couldn’t get the stones away from Captain Carter who had no experience using them? When he had been hunting universe killers, many of which had infinity stones, for a good while it’s implied? It makes no sense. Captain Carter and Kahhori were absolutely overpowered in this episode. Neither one should have been capable of what they did, and yet, that’s where we are. Sure, have powerful women, but don’t disrespect other established characters in the process, just to show how strong the women are. And kahhori’s powers come from the tesseract, how is she taking on the entire infinity armor with that? (Even captain marvel, who I also feel disrespected priorly established characters like Thor but just suddenly being all that and being able to do stuff he can’t hardly, got folded by a power stone fueled punch. And she got her powers from direct exposure to the tesseract, unlike Kahhori.) if it seems like I’m just hating on women, I’m sorry. I feel like Scarlet Witch was really well done in showing her as like the most powerful MCU character at the time, because she had good buildup to it. It wasn’t out of nowhere, like Kahhori or Captain Carter or Captain Marvel. So I guess that’s my big qualm. Stop sidelining established characters just to show off new characters, at least when they’re that powerful
Strange Supreme’s design was suck as ever btw. Loved it
I hate accidentally spoiling stuff for myself by going online🤦🏻♂️
The Cult of Venom’s Tongue welcomes you to our humble abode! I’m Ensylum, but you can call me Ensy!
@BashengaTheFirst glad to see you man! Hope the new year has been, is, and will continue to treat you well!
When I was reading some character bios as I made my team I found out that Flying Tiger was a failed professional football player before he was a villain lol.
I must’ve missed the last one too. This is a fun concept though! I’m excited about it
Solid team Dare!
