Well the branching happened all across time so technically it always existed.
I mean the ending oft Loki technically made them canon. Don't want to spoil anything Herr though.
I really don't know. I didn't read all comics. Just read them and enjoy them as what they are. You pretty much get a picture what is Canon and what not. And if you are not sure you can just Google it.

If Holt manages to damage the suit or get Rhodey out of it its basically over. With his agility and extreme tactical thinking he will be able to do that.

I haven't read much with Warmachine but after reading his page give me Michael on here. His T-Spheres make him literally invisible to any technology so Rhodes has to do this without any aim assistance. Terrifics gadgets give him extrem flexibility and I think that he would take that one. It's a close fight though.
Tom Hardy carried it. The script was horrible, but Hardy makes it a fun and great bromance movie.
