History
The Tablet of Destinies is a mystical artifact which bestows great power upon its bearer. Initially in the possession of the Annunaki, the gods of Mesopotamia, the tablet was first stolen by the Pazuzu, the demon-god in the form of the Zu-Bird, but Ninurtu, god of agriculture and war, thwarted his attempt to seize power by it. In the conflict known as the Annunaki Civil War it was stolen by the minions of the dragon-like Tiamat (the primeval embodiment of the sea). The Tablet of Destinies was then given to Tiamat's son and ally, the god Kingu, who wore it as a breastplate and gained enhanced powers that rivaled those of Anu, skyfather of the Annunaki. However, Marduk, the god of magic and grandson of Anu, eventually came to lead Anu's armies, defeated Kingu, and then reclaimed the Tablet of Destinies, thereby bringing an end to the civil war.[1]
