Abner Jenkins was a scientist who secretly worked for the Human Resistance, alongside the Howling Commandos' Erik Josten and Jim Sanders. The three, along with General "Dum Dum" Dugan, attempted to create a chemical weapon to wipe out all the Kree on Earth so the humans could strike an alliance with the Shi'ar to overthrow the House of M.[1]
