Doctor Abraham Erskine shared a similar history to his Earth 616 counterpart until the assassin, Heinz Kruger, failed at killing him. Doctor Erskine was able to use his Super-Soldier Serum to create an army of 500 Super Soliders that was able to win him the war. After Captain America was secretly replaced by the Red Skull Doctor Erskine was isolated so he could make more serum without seeing how the Red Skull was abusing it. When Doctor Erskine was eventually freed by the real Captain America, Doctor Erskine saved Captain America's life, sacrificing himself in the process.[1]
