Quote1 Je m'appelle "Absynthe." That's Absynthe spelled with a y, 'cause it's more annoying that way... But you can call me your personal exorcist, Tonyghost. Quote2

Abigail and the Beautiful Garbage were the multicultural waste product from assorted black-program attempts to upload human consciousness into digitalized form, including upload-research projects from A.I.M. and Hydra. She and the other beta-test uploads were classified as disposable trial runs. However, they escaped disposal and deletion.

Absynthe, Abigail's identity as a computer program, and the Beautiful Garbage targeted Tony Stark for his "accelerationware," technology capable of making programs achieve incredible speeds. During Stark's test run with his new Iron Man Armor, the Beautiful Garbage mechs attacked him with a rail gun, which penetrated his suit and incapacitated Stark. The new Iron Man's fail safe program kicked in, and a digitalized version of Stark's mind, "Tony Stark 2.0" was uploaded into the suit. Via deposit by the rail gun round that penetrated the suit, Absynthe infiltrated its operating code.

Meanwhile, Absynthe had also framed Iron Man 2.0 for Stark's severe injury, so S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Capekiller unit would hunt him down. After going under the radar, before Iron Man 2.0 appeared hallucinatory images Absynthe, who showed the intention of erasing "Tony Stark 2.0" from the armor's systems, and was slowly writing herself over the armor's operating code.

When Iron Man 2.0 infiltrated a Mecha Underground party with intentions of tracking down who was responsible of the attack on Stark, Absynthe hacked the different mechs at the party and attacked Iron Man 2.0. Even though he managed to exfiltrate from the scene, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Undercover Mech-Intel Operative identified Iron Man, and informed the Capekiller unit of his location. As he was being targeted by S.H.I.E.L.D., Absynthe had also cracked Tony 2.0's personality construct and started overwriting his memories and programming code.

With Tony 2.0 unable to pilot the suit, it entered in tactical autopilot mode when facing S.H.I.E.L.D.'s firepower. Meanwhile, Absynthe had finally seemingly deleted Tony 2.0. However, he revealed that while Absynthe overwrote his memory space, he had simultaneously overwritten himself into her memory space. With access to Absynthe's memories, Tony 2.0 discovered her origin.

After gaining control over his armor, Absynthe revealed to Tony 2.0 that there were other parts of the plan she was part of. A group of Beautiful Garbage arrived to the Assault Carrier of the Capekillers, which had used Iron Man 2.0 as a bait to penetrate the Carrier, in order to manually hack into their systems and access to some of the highest-yield hardware on the planet.

In order to confront the mechas, Iron Man 2.0 had to jack up his cognitive clock speed, and recoded his "accelerationware" software. Now moving at incredible speeds, Iron Man 2.0 was able to defeat almost every one of the mechas, up until the remaining two started moving at even higher speeds. Absynthe had covertly uploaded Tony 2.0's accelerationware into the Beautiful Garbage, which run much faster on their processors' chipsets. However, similarly to the way in which Absynthe had hacked the Mech Underground, Tony wrote additional functions into the accelerationware, which turned the remaining Beautiful Garbage into software-parasitized puppets. Tony 2.0 made the mechs destroy each other. During the attack on the carrier, a contingency plan was activated, which consisted in the detonation of a 1.5 megaton thermonuclear warhead.

With only 7 seconds left for the detonation, Tony 2.0 managed to crack the carrier's tactical intranet security and learn the only way he could deactivate the warhead was manually. With 6 seconds left, Iron Man 2.0 flew to the warhead's location. With 0.087 seconds left, Iron Man 2.0 arrived to the warhead's location. With 0.009 seconds left, he accessed to the warhead and began disrupting the bomb.

Iron Man 2.0's, and thus Absynthe's, following fate was unrevealed.

In her digitalized form, Absynthe is a computer virus capable of infiltrating even Stark tech.

  • One of Absynthe's grandmothers died of Alzheimer's Syndrome.
