So, Tarn the Uncaring. On a scale of one to ten, how dangerous is--
Count the numberless dead in the Abyssal Prisons he helped oversee.
The Abyssal Prisons was the penal colony overseen by Tarn the Uncaring for imprisoning mutants of Arakko that were unwilling to submit to Annihilation.[1]
History
When Arakko fell to the Horde of Annihilation approximately 100 years ago, the millions of mutants inside the walls found themselves trapped in a vassal state with no hope of escape, resistance, or insurrection.[1] The Ten Towers were brought low and the Abyssal Prisons were raised in their place.[3] The Abyssal Prisons were manned by the Summoners of both Amenth and Arakko, who answered only to Tarn the Uncaring and Annihilation.[1]
Under the leadership of Tarn the Uncaring, the Vile Omnipaths were imbedded in Arakko as stealth suppressors to uncover militant thought, defuse any attempted uprisings, and imprison any who would not bend a knee to Annihilation.[1][3] During the fallen years, Tarn and his Vile imprisoned, tortured, and killed countless Arakkii in the Abyssal Prisons.[4][2]
When the resentment of the demonic occupation of Arakko began to lead Kobak Never-Held and his lover Tarlo to consider dissident, their thoughts were detected by the Vile Omnipaths.[3] The punishment for conspirators was to execute one to teach the others.[5] When Tarlo shouldered the blame, he executed to teach Kobak the price of dissension.[3]
During the fallen years, there was one born in the Abyssal Prisons without powers who had his name and past psychically amputated to allow him to operate in secret against Annihilation beyond the perceptions of the Vile Omnipaths.[3][6][5] With Syzya of the Smoke and Zsora of the Spirit Flame, he with no name secretly reformed the Shadow Table to hold the rest of the Great Ring of Arakko to account.[6][5]
During a planned attack on Ora Serrata and the rest of the Great Ring, the King of Nothing and Zsora were captured while Syzya was able to escape via her teleportation. As punishment, Zsora was killed by Famine in front of her daughters and husband.[5] Disgusted with her father's perceived cowardice,[5] Zsen eventually accepted the bribes of the Vile and was genetically altered by Tarn to become a warrior to compensate for her non-offensive mutant power, but her father, the Fisher King, continued to fight.[3][6]
The Abyssal Prisons were finally abandoned and it's prisoners liberated when Arakko was freed the tyranny of Annihilation and moved from Amenth at the end of the Tournament of Swords in Otherworld.[7]Points of Interest
