History
Legendary Olympian metal for which Adamantium was named, used in Hercules' Golden Mace and the Gates of Pluto.[citation needed]
Properties
Described as the "Metal of the Gods", Adamantine is golden in color and has several mystical properties such as preventing both psychic and magical influences, as well as deflecting massive blasts of concussive energy.[1]
Adamantine is nigh-indestructible, very much like the metal alloy it inspired.[citation needed] Also, displayed by Howlett's skeleton is it's resistance to both mind control and illusions, there is also one instance where this metal can't be affected by both material shifts or matter state changes, meaning molecular changes, no matter who the person attempting the changes is, it cannot occur unless James himself wills it.[citation needed] Another instance where someone attempted to transform him into a creature using magic both failed and enraged Howlett.[citation needed] Adamantine has demonstrated its incredible durability many times, with one particular example, where it, in the form of Hercules' mace, was able to withstand the force of Thor's hammer blow.[citation needed]
