History

After Madame Masque learned about the upcoming invasion of Fear Eaters, she brought that information to M.O.D.O.K. and A.I.M., believing they could help the planet prepare. To that end they brainwashed Tony Stark into believing he was an agent of A.I.M., since was the only one who could control the Iron Man Armor, and by extension Fin Fang Foom.

Eventually, all of A.I.M.'s efforts have failed and M.O.D.O.K. instead decided to have A.I.M. temporarily leave the planet. Madame Masque fiercely opposed to that and M.O.D.O.K. severed A.I.M.'s ties with her, taking A.I.M. base #78-66 into space as soon she left.

At some point, Monica Rappaccini and her A.I.M. scientists stole a vial of Pym Particles from G.I.R.L. and used them to develop a long-range shrinking ray. They then developed a plan to permanently shrink all Avengers at the same time.
