A man has dinner every night with wax figures around the table and refers to them as his family. A woman schemes to marry him for his money even though she believes him to be insane, but she finds out that they really are his family, as he is made of wax too.

Synopsis for "Enough Rope!"

A ridiculed magician named Augustus Merlin learns a rope trick from an Indian fakir after threatening his life. He first tried to receive the information from the fakir's assistant but the assistant refused and Merlin killed him. He then confronted and threatened the fakir who revealed the information to Merlin but was killed anyway to hide the previous murder.

When Augustus performed the rope trick at the annual magicians' convention for the first time he soon found out that the rope trick transported him into the realm of the dead where the fakir and his assistant were waiting for him. The fakir told him that while Merlin knew how to perform the trick he never taught him how to leave after the performance. The fakir and the boy assistant than reached for Merlin's throat, the same way he had murdered the both of them.
