History
Aegir was the Asgardian god of the sea and a friend of Odin.[2][3]
He lived in a castle made of coral underwater beneath the Island of Hlesey, guarded by Fish-Men,[3] and had a life of joy, thanks to the companionship of the Ocean-Nymphs.[1]
At some point, he sired three Mermaidens, including Rana.[4][5] He was also the father of Saga the goddess of poetry.[2]
After Loki had Hoder kill Balder with a mistletoe arrow, Aegir held a feast at Odin's behest, for the Aesir to discuss the incoming Ragnarök, without Loki.[3]
Odin was entertaining Aegir in Asgard when Loki arrived to beg release from his sentence for trying to start Ragnarök.[1]See Also
