The Afghuli were the largest and most dominant tribesmen group dwelling in the southwestern Himelian Mountains above Vendhya, in Ghulistan. The Irakzai were their hated foes.

Another tribe of Greater Ghulistan, the Khurakzai, was possibly a branch of the Afghuli.

Conan aspired to become their chief.
