Captain Schnitzler was the leader of the most secur prison camp in Germany, even more secure than Berlin.
He, at some point captured U.S. soldier Jim Morita, where Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos, sent by Happy Sam Sawyer, came to his rescue. After a long fight, Schnitzler managed it to capture Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos. After they were brought to the cells, and met the captured Morita, they planned a plan to flee from the prison.
Sgt. Fury and a person named Corbett were later brought to Schnitzler, with the suspicion of starting a fight. Unknownst to Fury, one of the prisoners, Bodenschatz, turned out to be a traitor that secretly worked as an informant for Schnitzler. Schnitzler then sent a letter for Adolf Hitler, where he wrote that he captured the Howling Commandos, which made Hitler happy. Unknownst to Schnitzler, the Howling Commandos broked right at this moment out and defeated, in a long fight, the Nazis and Schnitzler.
After Hitler heard about that, he ordered that Kapitan Schnitzler would be executed, instead of Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos.
