History

Albert Louis is a mutant with the ability to generate and manipulate bio-electrical fields. He was out enjoying the night in his hometown of Halifax when he was attacked by the Hardliners. They had determined that he had super-powers and decided to eliminate him then and there. He was able to escape and headed for Toronto to seek Alpha Flight's aid. Once there, he was able to find them shortly after they had faced the Wrecking Crew. Alpha Flight was able to protect him from the Hardliners and he soon entered Beta Flight after joining his Gamma Flight training.[citation needed]

He was captured by the Hardliners and used as bait for Alpha Flight in their final battle before they were suspended by the government. He survived the battle with the timely assistance of Wildheart.[citation needed]

Albert attempted to end his contract with Department H but they refused to let him leave and sold his contract to a company in Santo Marco to help power their electric grid with his powers. Albert cloned himself and the clone, who believed himself to be the real Albert and ignorant of Department H's plans, was sent in Albert's place while the real Albert went into hiding.[3]

While the clone was using his powers in Santo Marco, his powers overloaded, resulting in an explosion that caused an environmental disaster in the country. Marauders came to the rescue thinking the explosion was caused by a mutant attack, they learned the truth. Believing the deceased clone to be the real Albert,[3] the Marauders put his name in the resurrection queue.[4]

Meanwhile, Albert assumed the identity of "Dr. Lucas Peterson" and resided in California with his new wife Eleanor Peterson and daughter Sophia. Albert was confronted at his workplace by Orchis forces who publicly revealed his status as a mutant, forcing him to flee.

Albert contacted his wife through a burner phone and revealed his past to her, unaware that Orchis was already listening in at his family home.[1] Albert was eventually caught at a diner in Bend, Oregon where police and Box Sentinels deployed by Department H surrounded him. Before the Sentinels could capture him, Albert was rescued by Fang, Aurora, Northstar, and Nemesis.[5] After Nemesis teleported the group teleported to Manitoba, former Marauder Fang confronted Albert regarding the inconsistencies surrounding his "death" in Santo Marco, and Albert revealed the truth about his clone and expressed remorse for the clone's imprisonment and death. Due to the injuries she received from the Sentinels and the strain of teleporting Feedback with the group, Nemesis fell unconscious as the remaining members of Alpha Flight met with them.[3]

Despite the Flight's plans to bring Feedback to Krakoa North, Feedback proposed turning himself in to Department H to buy time for the mutants to flee, as he felt responsible for Nemesis' injuries. Feedback was taken aboard the Omnijet while Box Sentinels arrived to escort him back to Toronto. However the plan went awry when Department H detected Krakoa North's location and sent the Sentinels there.[6] Albert and Alpha Flight flew to Krakoa North, despite Director Doiron's orders to return to headquarters with Feedback. Feedback managed to use his powers to destroy several Sentinels before he and the other mutant refugees were teleported by Nemesis to the Alpha Flight Low-Orbit Space Station, where they could take a getaway ship to Chandilar.[7]
