History
The Aldermen are a secret society of eight men who each possess a weapon made from a piece of an ancient relic. Each of the eight weapons is capable of transforming its owner into a super-powered form, but unlike those who possessed them earlier, the Aldermen swore not to attract attention and instead manipulate the world from the shadows.[1]
Eventually an Assassins Cooperative was formed by the Aldermen victims and began targeting the members one by one. Three of the Aldermen have been killed and their relics taken by the Co-Op, when the fourth member, the Bonsai Master, was killed in Tokyo by a Monkey. The Aldermen tried to recover Bonsai Master's swords, but their activities were traced back to them. Monkey showed up at Charles LeHigh's mansion at the same time when Dot of the Cooperative did.[2] With LeHigh, the Ogre rejected the advice of the Shepherd and decided to go on the offensive against their enemies, only to be killed as well, with the Cooperative now working together with Monkey and his friends.[1] Yannis Calamarus followed him not long after.[3]
Being the last survivor, Albert Rinkov grew tired of life and wished to pass the legacy of the Aldermen to others. He invited the Cooperative to a dinner at his estate, but only Bryce showed up, with everyone else expecting an ambush. Rinkov had a pleasant meal and conversation with Bryce, after which he shot himself in the head. His wife Valerie had been aware of his intentions and picked up the staff, becoming the next Shepherd, but had been taken out by the Cooperative not long after hes husband's death.[4]See Also
