History
The ghost known as Alestar Dunwick that had haunted Castle Dunwick was previously the father of Shiela Whittier but was killed by her mother. In death he made a pact with Satan to be reincarnated as Alestar Dunwick. While in the form of Alestar became his wife's former lover and drove her to suicide and gained her wealth. When the time was right he passed on as Alestar and willed the mansion to Shiela who he planned to kill for his dark masters. Now as the ghost of "Alestar" he haunted the mansion tormenting Shiela until he could reconstitute a solid form, but didn't count on being confronted and defeated by Dracula who by destroying the bones of his original body turned the ghost into a pile of ectoplasmic goo.[1]
