Alex Sandstrom was an employee for New York's City Register. He approached Kitty Pryde at the Xavier Institute for Mutant Education and Outreach which had been recently relocated in the middle of Central Park to hand her over an invoice which detailed the bill for lease payments and taxes the school had to pay. It amounted to eighteen million dollars.[1]
