Alex Power quit being Zero-G during the Regent's rise to power. When either his sister Julie or Katie accidentally used their powers in school, the Power Pack came back into action.[1] While on the run, the Power Pack was found and recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D..[2]
He appears to be the same age as his Earth-616 counterpart was upon receiving his powers. However, that would mean that he did not receive his powers until Regent had already started hunting down superheroes.
