History
Sir Alfred Jermyn was the only son of Nevil Jermyn and of a "vulgar" dancer with who Nevil had fled in 1849, returning to Jermyn House the following year a widower, with Alfred.
In 1852, explorer Samuel Seaton brought proof to Alfred's grandfather Robert Jermyn of the existence of a city of white apes in Congo, which also revealed to Robert his horrific lineage. Robert proceeded to slaughter Seaton, as well as his three sons, including Nevil who managed to protect his two-years old son Alfred.
Before he was four, Alfred became a baronet. Alfred was not at ease in the role of nobleman. At twenty, he joined a band of music-hall performer. He married a music-hall performer of unknown origin, and fathered Arthur Jermyn.
At the age of 36, he left his wife and son to join a traveling circus in America, "The Greatest Show On Earth". At that time Alfred was fascinated by a circus gorilla of lighter color than average, eventually asking to be able to train him even though he was not prepared for that role. During a stage of the circus in Chicago, Alfred performed a boxing match with the gorilla and was killed by him.[1]Notes
