History

Alfreda was a robot built by the inventor Egbert Bartholomew to give to his wife for her birthday. She was a servant robot that had to do the services in place of his wife. The robot was so efficient that Mrs. Bartholomew asked her husband if in addition to doing the chores he could improve her to also make her cook, and so Egbert did. Given the success obtained with Alfreda, Mrs. Bartholomew told her husband that they would also need a butler for their house, and Egbert built it calling it Alfred, then the wife said that a butler who welcomed people and could not speak did not make sense so Egbert gave a vocal apparatus to both robots, he also thought that if he gave them a robotic brain he would thus build the perfect robot which he regularly did, but the result was that the robots were much more intelligent than them. The robots with their brains were so advanced that they decided to write an autobiographical book about their robotic life and the roles with their creators were reversed, where Mrs. Bartholomew returned to do the housework so as not to disturb the two successful robots but with Egbert who thought that the robots with time would tire of all the attention on them following the success of their book and would be happy to return to their old role of servants.[1]
