All-New, All-Different Avengers is a comic book series produced by Marvel Comics during 2016 as a part of their All-New, All-Different Marvel publishing initiative. The series takes place following the events of the Secret Wars event, after which there is no longer group of super heroes using the "Avengers" name. The series sees a different type of Avengers team being recruited with new, younger super heroes including the new Ms. Marvel (Kamala Kahn), the new Spider-Man (Miles Morales), and the new Nova (Sam Alexander) who are recruited and mentored by veterans Iron Man, Vision, Captain America (Samuel Wilson), and the current Thor (Jane Foster).[1]
The series contains three main story arcs, following the new Avengers as they stop a plot by an enigmatic villain known as Mister Gryphon,[2] as they try to help Sam Alexander, Nova, find his lost father in space,[3] and as a new hero appears taking the mantle of the Wasp.[4] In addition to the main story arcs, the series has two sets of issues that do not tie into any larger story within the series itself, but instead explain members of the Avengers' involvement in other current Marvel Universe events, including Avengers: Standoff!,[5] and Civil War II.[6]
The All-New, All-Different Avengers series was preceded by a story within Avengers (Vol. 6) #0 and Free Comic Book Day 2015 (Avengers) #1, and the series had crossover material featured in Free Comic Book Day 2016 (Civil War II) #1 and one Annual edition.
The stories of the featured Avengers members following the conclusion of All-New, All-Different Avengers was primarily continued in both Avengers (Vol. 7) and Champions (Vol. 2).
