• Almuric was written by Robert E. Howard. It was originally serialized in three parts in the magazine Weird Tales beginning in May 1939.
  • The novel was first published in book form in 1964 by Ace Books.
  • The story was adapted Marvel Comics in an eponymous four-parts story, spanning from Epic Illustrated #2 to 5 (from Summer, 1980, to April, 1981).

  • "Zal" is also a character in the Hyborian Age.
