History
The history of Alpha Flight prior to the major events of Earth-9997 is presumably similar to that of their Earth-616 counterparts.
Alpha Flight were Canada's premiere superhero team, and continued fighting for their country after the mutation of humanity. When Captain America recruited an army comprised of super-beings from different nations in his effort to stop the Skull, Alpha Flight were among the first to join. Guardian and Sasquatch were involved in Captain America's attack on the Skull in New York City.[1]
Following the defeat of the Skull, and the Celestials, Alpha Flight were charged with defending the Human Torch set up in Canada to burn the Terrigen Mist out of the air in the region. They defended the torch against the fanatical Church of Immortus, but found themselves under attack by an army of Wendigo.[2]
Most of the team lost their lives in the attack, with only Sasquatch and Guardian surviving. They were found by surviving members of the Moon Tribe, a tribe of humans unaltered by the Celestials, who took them in.[3]
One of the Moon Tribe members surrendered his body to Guardian, who had lost his in the Wendigo attack. Sasquatch learned of the origins of the tribe, and their link to former Alpha Flight member Wolverine. Sasquatch and Guardian continued to fight as heroes, even after the destruction of Alpha Flight.[4][5]See Also
